  • GC Quad missing club data

Has anyone else had issues with their quad frequently not capturing club data? I have all 4 dots on all my clubs and it rarely captures all the club data. When it does catch club data it typically only shows 1 dot data instead of the full data.

I would say it totally misses club data about 50% of the time and reports 1 dot data about 40% and only get full club data about 10% of the time.

Any thoughts on what could be causing this issue?

I hear RMA. Doesn’t sound normal at all to me.

I contacted Foresight about it and they are going to look into it, but wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this as well.

Is it typical for it miss read at any frequency? Like 1 out of 10 of should it be more like it misses or reports only 1 dot data 1 of 100 times? Just trying to get a sense for how bad mine is currently compared to a normally operating unit.

With my experience GC Quad read slightly better than HMT. But HMT was also great at capturing data which didnt seem that much of a difference (note HMT is the same technology as GCQ).

Overall, missing data occurrence was probably like 5 out of 100 for me and if the unit is not defective I would try to check your clothes, shoes, balls, golf clubs or anything that will be reflective causing the IR to misread.

I haven't had any issues with mine reading. What firmware are you one?

If my dots are good it reads just about every single time. Only time it doesn't read is if my dots have deteriorated from hitting the ground on the course. That being said, my driver reads 100% of the time since there is no turf interaction to hurt my dots. Dots have been on there for over 6 months and I've never had to change them.

The had me update the firmware to the latest version, but problem is still occurring. Problem seem to be mostly isolated to my driver. Taylor Made M3, I don't wear shoes in my sim room and I use white bridgestone or maxfli balls. I wander if it has anything to do with my tee?

Make sure that the ball is not at the edge of the hitting area I was having that problem with my driver till I move ball more toward the center

At present, the firmware upgrade also has this problem. I have found that the GCQUAD is adjusted to the putter mode. Different color fader faces will make a wrong judgment on the GCQUAD, resulting in the fader club data not being read properly.
White putter face (close to the mark color) silver or metallic color will not recognize the face with IR reflective

I was talking to an HMT owner recently who was having the same problem. The flash array in early units could create some problems. Also, you could try some different dot materials. Have you tried the dots that being sold on ebay? Search Quad or HMT reflective dots.
