Upgrade from Fr1 to FSX 2018. Feedback?

So are you guys happy with your upgrades?
I am thinking about it (mostly for the skills challenge)
Looking at videos online the difference seems small between FR1 and FSX ? I took some screenshots from FR1 and compared to MMlincon:s videos from youtube, i know they probably look better on the computer than youtube. But still.
Or is it only the premium courses that are alot better?

I tried both but I would not go back to FR1, simply because it doesn't support newer hardware (i.e. 4k monitors, dual monitors, camera, HMT bluetooth, etc.). FR1 program itself is definitely solid but if you have recent technologies to play with I would not use FR1. If you don't care about technology advancement FR1 would still serve extremely well.

I run FSX 2018 on 4K so it is WAY better. Technically it's only UHD since we really aren't at true 4K yet. The majority of the courses are better but some are only marginally better. Both graphically and course accuracy. They added some course details which are nice but don't really impact the play, just gives better immersion. If your primary interest is the skills challenges I don't know that it would be worth the upgrade cost. As Leo said there are other benefits with FSX 2018 to consider. The camera support is actually nice and it should get better as it matures.

I guess the dual monitors and camera support are nice to have. So on FSX you don't need hardwired for HMT data? That's a big plus.
I think my expectations for the courses was too high coming from TGC and JNPG.
Was there not a list of the courses with ratings somewhere?
