20 yards left with 7 iron

It seems that my general tendency with the GC2 is that I hit most of my shots left. Slightly in to out with a face which is too closed to the path. On the course I don't seem to have this tendency. I am now guessing that on the course I am aiming 20 yards to the right which results in a ball going to the target. With CG2 I am obviously aiming straight (parallel to the target).

Anyone else having this experience? Not sure now what to do now. Trying to get the face more open and align better on the course or aim more to the right when practicing with the CG2.

I've noticed I swing more freely on the course with no ceiling above me, but that's me. If yours are plenty tall it may have nothing to do with it. Have you taken gc2 to the range to see if the results are the same? Might let you know if it's an indoor swing effect or not.

My ceiling is plenty high at 11 feet. I also don't feel any restrictions as the distance I hit indoors is virtually the same as outdoors.

Taking it to the range or course is a good idea. There is the hitting surface to consider as well. Is the ball flight the same? If you have questions about the results you are seeing from the gc2 I wouldn't work on fixing anything based on that until you can confirm the data is valid. A failing flash could be leading to bad reads. The indoor effect is real and it affects everyone differently.

Your "problem" if GC2 related is usually caused by one of two things:

1. The internal tilt calibration is off. Run the tilt calibration program if you have an older production model ( I don't know at what serial number the cutoff is). If the tilt is off taking it to the range won't tell you anything as the range itself is never flat due to drainage considerations at the time of construction plus any settling. ..

2. You have the GC2 misaligned relative to what you think the target path is. Remember the GC2, and any other launch monitor for that matter, measures everything relative to itself. If the front of the machine is not perfectly parallel to your assumed target line it will have an azimuth offset.

Taking it to the range will tell you two thing. First, if you are being affected by the indoor effect. And the second, is the range surface is likely different than it is at home, so you should see different results in the readings. If you do its likely the calibration of the unit. It's easy enough to run the calibration utility if you have a calibratible model.
