Soon to be - New to GC2 + HMT - Couple of Questions

Hi All!

Had some general questions, soon to be new to GC2 + HMT owner. Coming off of Skytrak - normally used just for range & practice sessions, but also have TGC (which I don't use because I don't hit driver outside).

Couple of questions -

1) I don't plan on buying FSX18, Foresight sales rep mentioned that the apple app will work fine for what I need. Anyone use the iPad app exclusively? Pro's & Cons vs SkyTrack? Is there an actual visual range or is it just a screenshot of where the ball flew, how far off line etc (similar to skytrak that has a range)?
2) Is there any other range based software that utilizes the HMT?
3) is the connection between your iPad and the GC2 done through USB to iPAD or via bluetooth?
4) Would there be any issue bringing the entire set up to the range - assuming no?
5) anything else I should be aware of before making the plunge?

Skytrak owner,

I believe you would have to get some sort of foresight software, as I believe the ipad app gives you numbers but NO 3D VISUAL of the actual shot as you hit it like on skytrak app.

I think you DO get the shot visual displayed AFTER the shot is hit, but it is not 3D visual.

GC2 guys, will hopefully correct me if i'm wrong, but I think that's the reason people don't just stick to using the IPAD app.

Assuming that all of the software Foresight sells runs through a CPU. Nothing ipad app related? I use mines outside and trying to avoid running a cord into my house and bluetooth streaming the video from my CPU to my ipad.

Ipad app gives you ball and club data and dispersion. No real 3d view of range.

2) Is there any other range based software that utilizes the HMT?
FR1/FSX are the main ways. Others will give the same info that is on your GC2 LCD for HMT data but nothing integrated similar to FSX and FR1.

At the range I would be tempted to just bring hte GC2 and HMT and nothing else. Use the LCD screen. I guess the IPAD would work too if you wanted to capture data or do a fitting.

Its a great combo, I bet you love it!
