OK, new issue with CG2 connectivity

I have connected my GC2 via my computers Bluetooth, couple holes into a round, it just stops registering shots. It says im still connected, but it doesnt work. I have a pretty good gaming computer.
Am I going to need to buy a Dongle? or is there a way to just run it through the USB.
    Thanks

I had the same issue with a new machine, It could be the power setting for Bluetooth - I turned off all power saving settings on my machine (everything is full on all the time) since I only use it for sim golf

I just got my simulator last month and have brand new computer and I am having the same problem exactly. Posted the question elsewhere in The Forum today too. It's so annoying, I move the gc2 closer to the PC but I don't know if it's randomly working or actually fixing the issue. I had the same question is this a dongle fix or not? And if not you and I will be saying then what? Does the gc2 come with a USB connection to keep it stably connected?

I’m going to try the dongle, but if that doesn’t work, then I think there is some flaws in the system. It’s a common problem it appears, but most, must get work, since the CG2 gets such great reviews.

did the power saving technique work?

I never tried the power saving technique that refers to when you are actually playing making sure that all functions are running at full power?
because otherwise I turn off the machine obviously when not in use in No Power mode lol.
is there a common setting for power saving features on PC including Bluetooth?

If it's working for 5-10 mins and stops it's more than likely the power saving setting
            for
            Bluetooth devices.

With my issue the power savings on the Bluetooth would kick on (turning off the
Bluetooth) while I was playing mid round. I'm also using
Bluetooth keyboard it also stop working - Do google searches to turn off the power saving for Bluetooth devices it's on by default.

I thought my computers Bluetooth would be good enough since my PC was about 6 feet from the CG2. I was really hoping a direct connect would work. It would be such a better option than using Bluetooth. With the current setup it works for about 15 minutes, then no shots will register anymore. The CG2 will show everything, but nothing happens on the screen. It’s odd to me the PC and JNPG will say it still connected. So I have order the ASUS 4.0 Dongle with a USB exiting wire. We will see if that works. I will make sure I shut down the power saving option. I will post to to let everyone know if it works.

I shared your frustrations in a previous post. I called Foresight tech department four times and will not call again but it is not for the reasons you would think.. They really tried very hard to help and were very patient. In fact, some solutions did help once, but when I turned of my computer and turn it back on, it would not work again. Its just that I'm not sure what else they can do. My computer is paired with the GC2. I ordered and just put in a new ASAU 4.0 Dongle and that didn't help Put it on an extension a foot from the GC2 and that didn't.(It also seems to defeat using the Bluetooth if I have to put it so close ). I am sorry I can not give you solutions because I don't have any. Just sharing in your frustrations.

I've had similar issues / frustrations. Double and triple check your in and out COM ports. My BT stopped working last week and when I checked, Windows had changed my ports to 5 & 6 (they were 3 & 4). Once I changed the ports in GSX, all was well.

Thank you Orangeman for the information. Sadly, I am not sure what all of that means. I took my dongle out and tried to put it in all of the USB ports on my computer but could not find one to work. I don't know what you mean changing ports GXS means. Sorry, I just don't know that much about this stuff.

Ports are part of the system not the external ports/usb/etc - every time you re-setup a device on a com port Bluetooth/usb/etc it uses up a port - and once used they can't be reassigned - without doing some low level stuff, so best thing to do is re-setup the GC2 Bluetooth go to devices and find out what port it is using - then go in to GSX and set the port the GC2 is using. If you need more help there is a whole setup topic on this site in the GC2 forum with screen shots I think there also from win10. You can get this working just redo all the steps.

I ended up adding the ASUS bluetooth dongle with an usb extension. My CG2 is working just fine now, I was able to play 2 rounds last night

Mine just came yesterday I have not installed it. Believe it or not I could not even with a Google search figure out how to make sure my Bluetooth is out of power saving mode in Windows is there any way you could tell me those steps?

I did try to do that, but there was not a power saving option for me. I followed the directions, but going under devices, then bluetooth, right clicking and then going under properties, then power management. I didnt have the option to power management under this USB port. I have now played 3 rounds of golf and spent some time at practice range and have had no issues what so ever.
