I just bought the GC Quad for personal use. The guy I purchased it from set it up for me. I was previously using the skytrak. My question is about the driving range feature. When you hit the ball I get the "tracer" technology that creates a line that follows the flight of the ball. On my skytrak this line started at the bottom of the screen, ground level and continued until the ball hit the ground. On the GC quad the line starts way above ground level. I have been told that when you do the original setup you are asked how far the simulator is from the screen. Does this have anything to do with the tracer not starting until several feet above ground level? I prefer the tracer technology originating at ground level instead of just starting somewhere during the flight of the ball.

The setup utility is used to configure your environment so the quad knows it's location in relation to the impact screen. The ball should impact the screen where the line starts if it doesn't your setup is wrong. It's a continuation of the real world into the virtual. I don't know that there is a way to turn this off other than turning off wait for spin which defeats the purpose of measure spin. I'm not even sure if it will make a difference in FSX2018.

On my system it is here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Foresight Sports Experience Components\SimulatorSetupTool.exe
You could just search for SimulatorSetupTool.exe and it should find it. Be sure to right-click and run as administrator or the settings won't be saved.
