  • Best mats setup for putting and hitting with GC2

im currently setting up my new golf simulator and can’t find any discussions on what mats or setup give you the best hitting and putting setup on GC2. I ended up ordering the Fiberbuilt 5’x4’ performance mat because I read it has one of the best feels and less stress on your body when hitting but putting with this mat might not work.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Nate

i've got a GC2 and Fiberbuilt, i also own a CCE (country club elite) with my swing i tended to get tennis/golfer elbow with the CCE, and i find the Fiberbuilt mat much kinder to the joints, i actually do putt off the fiberbuilt contary to most folks advice, and i really don't have any crazy putting numbers, or at least its not much worse than when i putted off the stance mat. That said, due to the size of the gc2 hitting window its possible to play your shots off the Fiberbuilt and putt off a stance mat or putting strip without moving the gc2. i've got a birdie ball hitting strip for which i intend to do exactly that when i eventually get around to it. others have built sliding trays that the GC2 sits it which enable to be moved without affecting alignment, the tray would slide so you can hit or putt off a different surface.

I have a GC2 and fiberbult and have no issues putting. You know when you push or pull a putt and GC2 reads it extremely accurate off the fiberbuilt mat. I have heard some people say the mat is not good to putt on but they may have had other LM not sure. I can say no issue with me.

Have a CCE, very happy. CCE is quite punishing on fat shots - which I see as a plus. I do not think they are hard on joints. I tend to get inflammation and issues on many mats in shops and indoor driving ranges - not with the CCE at home. Spin numbers can get funky with the GC2 on some mats. That's something I would look for. I do see realistic spin numbers on most shots with the CCE.

I do not see a clear value of putting (or putting training) on the GC2 - so I mainly Autoputt or Putt without the GC2. So for me not a clear deciding factor for or against a specific mat. Might be different if you plan to do a lot of sim league play.

I have the CCE and I think it's great. I did get tendinitis in my right elbow though and I do feel like something is a miss in my left wrist. I might eventually switch to fiber built if my body can't handle cce.

I just got my fiberbuilt 4ft hitting strip in. It's so much easier on the joints and the resistance during the strike feels more like taking a divot outdoors. My back wrists and elbow feel less strained. Very happy with the change.

I have the t35 mat. They are Chinese but really good quality mats at a fraction of the price of CCE, Truestrike etc..

I've hit thousands of shots off mine and it's still like new, bar some slight discolouration from where I've been hitting from.

Fat shots are punished and putting is really good on this mat. It also takes tees although I always use tomahawks.

It's my first mat so I have no experience with the others. However I'm very happy and this will last me for years. I would definitely recommend the t35!
