  • FSX2018 Dual Display

    I actually have three monitors.
    Monitor on the PC
55" TV on the wall (used to be the main display)
    Optima projector.

Maybe this is causing the problem but with the TV disconnected I had the same issue.

I followed the manual and right clicked the screen and selected extended display.

When I play both the Computer Screen and projector display the same image. If I hit analysis and alt tab I can see the club/ball screen.

In the dual monitor screen right now in the second monitor drop down nothing displays.

What I would like if at all possible is the computer monitor and projector to show the course with overhead view and header
The TV to show the club analysis

    WHat am I doing wrong?

You're not going to be able to change what is displayed between the monitors only the overlays. So, the background is going to be the course and this will be duplicated across the displays. So, you can have the header on the TV display and nothing on the projected display but the course. That is how I do it. From there you can have cams, if you have them, either displayed on the TV or projector. Same with analysis info. The third screen is going to be a mirror of one of the two so it's going to just duplicate that display. I haven't tried with 3 monitors so I can't provide much help there.

The dual screen detection is a bit clunky but once it's setup it works fine. I had to move my hdmi ports around on my video card to get the displays in the correct order to work right. The very confusing part is the name of the display within FSX and Windows don't always match up. You'll have to just keep changing settings until it's doing what you want or at least that is how I got mine setup.

I'm not clear on what you want in the end. By overhead view do you mean the map? Once you get the monitors identified within FSX it should be pretty easy to get what you want displayed on the two dsiplays..

Bumping this one as I’m looking for help please!

      I have a 4K monitor and a WUXGA projector (1920x1200). Nvidia RTX2060 card.

Trying to setup a dual display and have come across the above points around the overlays and the display name’s not always matching windows.

The thing I’m stuck on is FSX won’t display the projector (main display) in native resolution (only 800x300) and it won’t let me change the resolution in the dual display drop down.

Ideally, I want the projector to show the sim display in 1920x1200 and all data on the monitor (1920x1080 is fine).

      Any ideas?

Ok, so I found the problem/s...

Bit of fiddling with Windows and switched a Display Port to HDMI adapter that seemed to be capping resolution. Now doing what I wanted.

Detroit Bill , did you or anyone else ever figure out 3 displays? I am playing with that now. I guess it's the same as two, I just have 1 & 3 duplicated and 2 showing analysis, or trying to. It's not really working how I want it to though.

I'd love one display to show the video replay and the other to show the table or anything else.... anyone have any luck doing something like that? Or even two different screens showing two different analyses?

No, I don't think you'll be able to do that. You can cycle through the analysis pages but that's it. You can enable the cameras on one screen(for check setup, etc.) and then have the analysis on another but that wouldn't be at the same time. There really isn't an option in the settings to split out the info.

What do you mean by cameras on one screen? Which cameras?

I just put up a tv to display analysis but it only duplicates the projector so the tv is basically useless and I shouldn’t have wasted my time hanging it......or I’m doing something wrong but I can’t figure it out either.

If you extend your display in Windows you can run dual display in FSX. You can control what is on which display. For instance I have the mini-map or cameras on the TV display along with all the menus. My projector images is only the course with nothing else. More immersive that way.

Baller - the cameras you are using for swing capture. If you set it up like I said above you can display the live swing cam images on either display. If I'm more interested in down the line I'll put them on the projected image. If I want to check face on I'll put them on the TV. They go up as a pair and you can't adjust or move them but you can choose where they display.

You can see what I mean by splitting the display in the video below. This doesn't show the live cams but you can see that I don't have the menus or mini map on the projected image.

mmlincon Are you using a Go-Pro type camera for the LCD data? Is that the only way to have the HMT data along with the game?

It's a logitech webcam with an overlayed video. Not sure what you mean about HMT data with the game.

I just quickly looked at your YouTube video and thought I saw your club data from the Quad. Maybe it was your typical ball data..?

Club data will show up on the Quad Display as long as the clubs are marked. Actually, if club data is enabled the club page will show but with no data. You can display all that info in more detail through the software. I just have it turned off because we are playing and not working on anything.
