  • HMT and FSX install ????

Finally getting around to installing my HMT and FSX. I sure this question has been asked a ton of times, but I can't find anything here or on Foresight's web sight about it.

My first install will be the HMT unit. Start up instructions say to make sure you have the latest firmware. I have version 4.0.0.15. Is that the latest version (or one thats works/is better then the latest ??????? If not, how do I install new firmware ??

I'm sure I'll FSX questions to follow .

That is the latest firmware for GC2/HMT.

    Here is their drivers page

GOOGLE search may have answered part of my question...............

Looks like I have the latest firmware version. I also see a file called "Updated GC2 Driver" . Do I need to do anything with that ?????? Or is it something totally different.

When you install FSX it will prompt you install install that GC2 driver.

Meaning its already included in the FSX download. You don’t need to install it seperately. Of course if you already did install it its not a problem either.

HMT is up a running well ! Thanks for the help ! On to the next task. With the HMT up, I'd like to use the app. Is it as simple as, visit the app store, download and go? Or is there something else ?

HMT is working great, FSX , not so good. Screen resolution is really low. Any easy fix ??

Screen resolution comes from your graphic cards settings.
image quality inside FSX can be set to full performance / balanced / optimised for speed.

what resolution you using and on what display type? Graphics card?

FSX is Full Graphics, 1080 resolution. I don"t know what display "type", that's a new one for me. Graphics card is a Nivida GTX1070.

Having played it a little more now, I can add a couple other things.

I get NO difference in screen resolution or game play on "Full Performance" or "Full Graphics" mode. I am running the game on my Monitor and mirroring the image to my projector. Neither one looks even close to 1080. All setting I can find say they should be 1080.

              HELP !!

Is your monitor 1920x1080 so when running FSX you get no borders, try without projector, get it looking right on monitor.
what graphics card do you have?
                what projector model?

I'm running widowed so I do get a little bordered. Monitor is showing in settings as 1920x1080. Card is a GTX1070. Projector is BenQ TH671ST.

I'll try it with just the monitor and with just the projector to see if it makes a difference.

And try full screen not windowed just for testing.

Disconnected the TV/Monitor. Using just the projector, I get a little better image.

I also reread the instillation instructions and went through the video card settings. I was NOT on "High Performance", made that change and the image quality is defiantly better. Still not what I was expecting, but it is better.

Went back to TGC and it looks like it runs in a higher resolution.

Whats the general consensus on image quality, Is FSX or TGC a higher ???
