New GC2 owner. I’ve been trying out this week hitting off FiberBuilt mat into a net. I’ve been getting distances 20 to 50 yards shorter than I normally do on a real range and course. I think it may be the FiberBuilt mat allowing me to swing to deep. I’m getting really higher than normal launch angles.
I hit my 3 wood off the deck and off a tee 200 yards all day long on the real course and range. 220 when I hit it really well. In FSX with the GC2 I was averaging 150 total distance and couldn’t get any shots to go longer than 175 even when I absolutely crushed the ball perfectly. Some shots where skying into the air and I never hit skyballs off the deck with my 3 wood. If anything I typically hit low trajectory shots off the fairway with my 3 wood.
With my 7 iron I typically carry 135 to 140, total distances 150. With the GC2 and FSX I couldn’t hit a ball farther than 115 carry.
With my driver I usually average 225 carry on a real course. On the GC2 I couldn’t break 200 and my average carry was around 160.
I ended up switching out the FB for my Real Feal mat to see if it was any better. Distances weren’t a little longer but still well short of my real world averages.
And it’s not the indoor swing effect. I have plenty of room and I’ve been hitting into a net inside without a GC2 for a long time. I was swinging 100% power and when I saw how short the distances were coming up I started killing the call just to see if I can get my normal distances but still came up way short.
My wedges were the opposite. I have a 56 degree Cleveland Wedge that I have dialed in at 50 yards with a nice easy swing. The same swing in FSX was going 80 yards. I would have to absolutely kill the ball with my 56 degree to hit the ball 80 yards. I used my Cleveland chipper and took maybe a 20 yard swing and the ball went 50 yards in FSX.
I have Cleveland 58 degree lob wedge that in real life won’t go farther than 40 yards unless I skull the ball. In FSX with my easy 30 yard swing, the ball was going 60 yards. Crazy!
Ang suggestions? Do us think it’s the mats or the GC2 or me?
