  • Shots with my 58, 54 and 50 degree wedges aren't being picked anymore

I've had my GC2/HMT for about 24-30 months (purchased new from Foresight Canada). Recently tournament play has become almost impossible. The thing won't pick up wedge shots anymore. I have to hit a super low bump and run. Most of the time the ball runs way past the hole. I can't tell if there's a problem with the unit or if my shot shape has changed. Can the experienced GC2 guys help with this? Do you think I need to have the GC2 fixed, change parts or just get dark wedges. I currently play the traditional shinny wedges (Vokey SM7). The wedges are getting old, so the timing is good if in fact dark colored wedges would improve matters. Thanks in advance for your help.

Likely shiny wedges or flash going bad.

Does it have issues picking up putts? When my flash was going, this is when i noticed it.

Putts are fine. Contacted foresight Canada for help. They offered a few ideas. We are close to settling on the flash as the problem. When I swing the wedges at very slow speeds the shots register. They said this is a sign that the flash is the problem.

I had brand new vokeys that were shiny and it missed some shots. Seemed to have got better after they were used for a while. I also expected my gc2 wasn't in the cradle exactly right. I have two super flashes and both were missing wedges, so mine wasn't the flash. Mine also seems to miss white 4 woods, I've taped the head and that seems to be working better.

That surprises me. So new flashes were missing reads? I'll keep digging.

Correct, I tried the super flash that came with it (used) and a brand new one, same results. My buddy bought the same wedges at the same time but lh, missed some of his. Seems to be better now, I figured it was because they were scratched up a bit. Do you have a metal cradle? I think mine may have contributed to issue

Plastic cradle. Going to take it out of the cradle and see if that makes a difference. I'm tempted to colour the face of an old wedge with black marker and give it a go.

I had the same thing happen. Aaron suggested a new flash. The GC2 misses some wedges. I don't know why. The flash helps. It got better when I upgraded mine. Also, put the ball in the top left part of the FOV (For RH) and it'll happen a lot less. This makes me think its a high LA thing

I've found moving it FOV helped as well and also suspected high launch seemed to miss more

Mine never missed my old black wedges... Worth a try. Mine misses if I hit it fatter than usual, but my mat sucks too

Ok finally had a chance to test it with a dark faced wedge. I coloured iit black with a sharpy. Problem solved. Thanks for your help.

Did you do the face or back with the sharpie?
If you do the face wont the sharpie transfer to the ball?
I have spent 5 hours this week testing because I have random high lofted shots not reading.
Been all over on height above mat, 7/8" to 1 3/4", FOV placement, distance on the Y axis and X axis and have not
come up with anything that works everytime.
Next I will try a Vokey 60* I have that gets rusty by design and see what happens.

I coloured the face and hossel. I let it dry for 24 hours. Yes the sharpy did come off on the ball. No issues with the screen because I was careful to hit super high shots. The high shots hit my black overhead curtain not the screen. I'm not going to tempt fate. Now that I'm confident it works I'm going to buy a few inexpensive wedges for the sim room.

Yeah, my good shots hit my overhead curtain also.
Does every shot read now. I can get most of mine to read, but not all of them.
Like mthunt said, it is a LA thing, I called Foresight, they said it was. He said to raise it higher than the 1" I had it. Didn't help that much
