FSX2018 question

Thanks for reading. I’m having 8 guys over tomorrow for some michigan state-Indiana basketball and simulator play. I upgraded last week and downloaded the four courses. I also have quite a few from last version - including pebble beach. I haven’t messed with it much but loaded up pebble tonight and hit first two drives ob- hooks - not even that bad. Plus graphics weren’t that great compared to my old fs1. My question is should I just have us play the bug-free fs1 on Kong’s barns (we going to play next summer) or should I play something on the new fsx2018? And if we play fs2018 (which I want to but have heard it freezes) what course would be best? We have a couple high handicappers and I want to minimize their mishaps. Thanks. I also didn’t upgrade my old courses in fsx18. Is their a big difference. I find it kind of sad I’ve paid some money for pebble and others and I’m hesitant to use them. I also paid for the St. Andrews package promised late January. I emailed them Wednesday on status and got no reply. Would love to play St. Andrews tomorrow night. Thanks guys. Having guests over to play you should stick with what you know works. For me FSX 2018 has not been a great user experience. Hope they update it soon.

Are you saying the old FR1 courses working FSX2018? That's crazy! St. Andrews is released and yes you should upgrade the courses. There is a huge difference. It's stable for me but there are some bugs. I don't experience the crashes others see so it maybe hardware dependent. You can get the 2018 courses at the link below.

I don’t get crashes in FSX2018 either... but there are lots of bugs. None are severe enough to make me use something else... just a bit irritating sometimes!

There was supposed to be a new version of FSX2018 released after the PGA show. Not sure if it’s been released yet? I haven’t had an email telling me to update?

If it's crashing, it's likely your system and not FSX2018. I haven't had any crashes since the first release. Make sure you don't have too many things open and you have enough ram. My system is over 5 years old, but I did increase my ram to 24g I think, and my virtual memory is high as well. I usually have Chrome open with a ton of windows and music streaming as well.
