Worth it to upgrade from FR1 to FSX2018

Have a question. While it may be beneficial to pay to upgrade if you have a gc2 with fr1. However if you pay $1750 for the fax upgrade what happens if you decide to upgrade to GCquad down the road? I see most used Gcquads come with fsx. So if you buy a used quad for day 15k and it came with fsx, isn’t the $1750 you just paid to upgrade your copy a wasted purchase?

Or does FSX come with a similar dongle so in the above example if you get a second copy of fsx you can at least sell one copy on the secondary market?

Yes, you would be able to sell the second copy of FSX on the secondary market. You're right that most if not all GCQuads for sale come with a copy of FSX. I purchased a used quad with FSX and I already had a copy of FSX. All the quads that I considered buying (used) all came with a copy of FSX or FSX2018;.

The non-dongle software is tied to a Foresight performance live account so to "take" ownership of the software you'd need the credentials from the seller of the performance live account associated with the software. You'd then be able to change credential information (username/password) and have full control of being able to install and deactivate the software as you please.

Hard enough finding a used GC2. A used Quad? Good luck bro. Upgrade to FSX, and then just stay on the hunt for the Quad... It may take a while.

That’s brilliant. Glad I never came across one when I was looking, as at the time, I didn’t realize that quads can’t play via TGC. That would have been terrible, since I use that more than my FSX.

Lots of shops are upgrading from Quads to Hawks. That's why Foresight had some refurbs in stock. I imagine when Hawk adds club data there will be some more upgraders.

Very true Stingreye. I’m still astonished that the hawk didn’t start out with club data!
