  • GC2 TGC set up and Bluetooth

I bought a refurbished GC2 last year from Foresight. I am now trying to connect via Bluetooth, which I understand I will need to do to set up TGC??

Problem is I cant see my Gc2 highlighted as a Bluetooth device on my pc (or iPhone which I tested for Bluetooth devices available)

1 Does my GC2 have Bluetooth enabled?

2 If so how do I activate it; if not do I need to buy a blue tooth dongle to set up TGC...or can I do with a USB cable??

3 are there any straight fwd instructions to setting up TGC to work with GC2. ?

    appreciate any help …

    cheers

All working GC2's have bluetooth and there is no need to activate it. You have to use bluetooth for TGC, either internal to your computer or a dongle. If the serial number starts with A it should show up on your phone if you have the Foresight app (not FSX but the other one). If it doesn't have an A, you won't see it on Apple products. I'm pretty sure you will need to download the driver from Foresight's website for it to show up on your computer.

All GC2's have bluetooth. The A versions, which start with A for the serial number are capable to be used with apple products. Try another non apple device to see if it picks up the gc2. If not, the bluetooth may be bad and need to be fixed. You can't run TGC with USB. Yes there are instructions in the foresight section.

So I just power up the GC2, and when ready to hit balls I should see the device when searching for Bluetooth devices on my laptop or phone?

If so then I am in trouble as don’t see it on either.

Have thus far been using usb cable to connect GC2 for FSX, and if no cable I don’t see the device. Doesn’t bode well if then can’t use the cable for TGC, and can’t see device.

Is there anything I need to do on GC2 to enable or broadcast Bluetooth??

        Thanks

No do nothing on GC2 it wil automatically be sending out signal (IF working), as suggested use a NON PC product for the simplest tesr, verify it is an A serial or not, try an iOS app or android app. If it doesn't find it dont even bother trying the PC route, contact foresight, sounds like your bluetooth PCB is faulty.
            Good Luck

Thanks.... I was able to see it on my iPhone and after a few attempts it connected.

No idea why it’s not showing on the laptop but will keep trying.

Make sure you have the right drivers. If you have firmware lower than 4.0.0, you can't use the newer drivers. Also, myself and many others have had good success using an Asus BT400 adapter on the end of an extension USB cable so the adapter can be right next to the GC2. It may be overkill but I never have any drops, and an extra $20 in the simulator world is a bargain

I second that. I have BT on-board but still bought the Asus BT400 Adpator, disabled the onboard and use the external adaptor, no dropouts. Only problem to watch out for is windows updates sometimes enable the on-board Bluetooth which conflicts with the Asus BT400, but if your pre-warned then can solve it within minutes,
I am still on 3.5 firmware...and use old drivers.
            Working...
