  • GSX TGC2019 Stimp

    Well I was bored last night and decided to crudely try to determine stimp on medium speed greens by adjusting putting in the GSX interface.
    -30=4.5 stimp
    -20=6
    -10=7.5
    0 = 9
    +10=10.5
    +20=12
    +30=15 stimp

    There is definitely an advantage putting on slower greens for reading purposes and fewer 3 putts since putts don't get away especially the downhills putts.

    My putting turf fiberbuilt to cce strips total of 8ft matches up with -5 or approximately 8.25 stimp on medium green. 6.5ft of cce and I was starting the putt on fiberbuilt but only putting it over the last 1.5 ft of it.

    For what it's worth enjoy.

    I find the best settings are Moderate on speed and soft on green firmness. I zero out GSX.

      Im liking -5 GSX cause it matches my turf. moderate on speed
      Green firmness super soft or whatever the softest setting is.

      Mthunt somewhere in all of this I thought I read you use to set gsx at like 17? Now that could put you in some tough positions on some of these greens. You would need great touch.

        We used to have no options for speed in the game. Now that we do it’s better to 0 out GSX because GSX only effects certain clubs so green speed for chipping isn’t adjusted.

        mthunt - what do you mean by "zero out" GSX? Thanks.

        I think he means to put the slider at 0 GSX. On medium green speed I figured that to be around a 9 stimp.

      Great info. Thanks. I am also doing putting analysis on all sims including TGC.
