  • Bluetooth GSX frustration

I want to just play but sometimes I fire up my pc and it just won't connect. It says paired but won't connect. When it acts up the only way I can get it to connect is to unpair the gc2, turn the gc2 off, turn it back on search for the device while the gc2 is loading up 0000 and reconnect. If I unpair and search without turning the gc2 off trying to reconnect while it's on the it says we didn't get any response from the device try again. It still will never connect unless I turn the gc2 off and reconnect while it is loading up.

Is there anything I can try that may help?

Hitting balls then hitting the slider never works for me. Rebooting pc generally doesn't work

    Using
Windows 10, Asusbt400 dongle, dongle 4-5ft away from gc2, BT autoconnect, energy saving off on usb connections, i'm using usb 3.0 with 3.0 extension

My order on the start up is
    1. Pc
    2. Protee interface
    3. GSX
    4. GC2
    5. Slider on gsx

    Open to any recommendations

Sometimes I easily waste 30-40 minutes fiddling with it.

Wizard of Coz Just a shot in the dark here... I used to have this same exact issue all of the time. It was infuriating. Tried changing the order of startup, every way possible, tried 5 different BT dongles, no luck. Finally picked the BT dongle up off of the floor and hung it on a hook. Bingo. Works every time now. It was previously 3 inches from the GC2... didn’t matter... there was interference from the floor. Now it’s a couple of feet from the gc2 and in the air, and I never have an issue now. A friend of mine also had this issue... his was tucked in the open end of a console shelf a few feet away. Immediately cleared up when he let the dongle hang outside. Perhaps there’s some simple interference going on? Good luck.

I have same setup and run exact order as BWJones. Only difference is I have my dongle sitting right next to my GC2 - literally almost on top of it. It never drops once started but every once in a while I can't get it to connect. In that case, I shut down the GC2 and restart it. Usually does the trick.

Let me guess, windows 10? Everyone struggles with windows 10. I had to downgrade to 8. Works perfect.

Another thing to try is hit a shot before sliding the slider. Works sometimes.

I had the same problem yesterday. Make sure the slider in the allow external data is slid to on. Somehow that got turned off on mine. I ended up not being a bluetooth problem.

I messed around with mine yesterday for an hour. Removed one GC2 and tried my second GC2unit. Could not get either to connect through GSX.. Initially I thought that the bluetooth was bad in one unit so I tried the other. Luckily I had another unit to try. Both were connected by bluetooth. Com port for outgoing port was set correctly in the GSX interface. Finally I noticed that the allow external data was off. I turned that on and both GC2 units connected when I slid the slider in GSX. Hopefully it is that simple for you. Sometimes it the simplest thing. Like if your car won't start make sure you have gas in the tank.

jv mine is hanging from the ceiling I'll try to move it a bit.

Bw Jones I'll definitely try your order of operations next.

Orangeman once im connected it has never dropped its just getting connected is the headache

Mthunt hitting shots doesn't work windows 10 new pc this year

Son man my slider is on but actually all of my sliders are on including the top 2. Shouldn't your top 2 be on?

Thanks for all the ideas it will give me something try. I hope the order of start up does the trick.

Ok I tried that order and it worked so it's 1-1 so far. I turned pc on and then turned gc2 on immediately without waiting for the pc to load up. Is that what you do or wait til pc is done loading?

I do same as BW with good success. Can't remember last hang. I don't put a ball down until everything is ready. No idea if that matters though.

If it won't connect try rebooting computer leaving the Gc2 on.

Yes the golf club slider has to be on if your using TGC. I believe the other top one should be on also. I’m not in front of my sim right now.

Just referring to your image that's all. Hopefully this order of operation change is my answer.

Is your GC2 showing up in Bluetooth devices. If yes What is your outgoing com port in the Bluetooth settings? That is the port you use in GSX settings. I have com 1 set in the protee interface.
I start my computer, and GC2 about the same time. By the time computer starts, the GC2 is up and running. Then right click and run protee interface as administrator, then start gsx. Turn slider to connect in GSX. When connected, then start TGC. When you installed hopefully you allowed the programs past your antivirus software. If using Norton check to see that it is allowed past antivirus.

Ive been using the gc2 with even the alpha version so I im pretty sure I have all the settings correct. It's just a transient sh@t mess fiasco when the paired gc2 doesn't connect. I tried a different order on start up today and it worked. Ill keep my fingers crossed.
Ive never right clicked the interface and run as administrator. That's new to me. I usually just double click the shortcuts.

All of this information is helpful thank you
