  • New GCQ lost full clubhead data

The 30 day putting demo has just expired on my GCQ and it seems to have taken the full 4-dot club data with it (will only operate on single dot).

Device is setup for full club data, any ideas how I get it back?

I found an old thread where this seems to have happened to someone else before, just doesn’t say how to solve it. Can call my FS rep on Monday, but would like to have it working sooner.

Did you try replacing the dots? My dots stop working after a while and I get 1 dot data.

Sorry for the two bad questions, but are you sure you paid extra for the club head data as it doesn’t come in the base price. Also, I assume u check the settings to ensure it was accidentally turned off.

        Thanks guys.

Yeh, I replaced the dots and I sure did pay for the full club head data (has been working fine to now).

It’s giving me only one dot readings on the iPad and the GCQuad screen is presenting the clubhead data in a single column (club head speed, smash factor, etc) but is no longer displaying AoA, loft, lie, face angle etc.

Seems a bit coincidental that this happened just after the putting demo expired. The other thread said something about FS configuring them for putting on issue, so I’m wondering if I need to update firmware.

Very valid Q’s, but yep definitely paid for it and first thing I did was play around with the on/off setting, reboot etc. No luck as yet.

            1. Connect your GCQuad to your Windows computer using the USB-C cable provided with the device.
            2. Download and then Run the installation file from the link directly below.
            GCQuad Firmware v2.2.5.1 | 12.0 MB
            * The new firmware installation will update the firmware on its own. This process may cause the device to restart and will take a few minutes to complete. Be sure not to power down the device during this process. *
            1. To turn on the Club Feature open the GCQuad on screen menu and select the first option: Tracking Mode. Here you will be offered the option to turn on/off Club and Putting. Be sure Club is turned on when needed and turn on Putting when needed.
            2. Connect the device in your software to enable the full Club feature

These are the instructions I received a few weeks ago from Foresight directly.

The link for the firmware is: https://spaces.hightail.com/receive/CfoxUNq3IE

Just for the record, this firmware version was received less than 1 month ago (purchased quad/hmt/putting), so it's the latest firmware.

Ok, so firmware update didn’t work, something else must be going on here.

Pics attached show what I’m seeing on the screen - I’m not even getting full 1-dot data...possibly because I have four dots on the club head, haven’t tested with just 1.

Will call my FS rep tomorrow. As I said, worked just fine until the putting demo expired.

Edit: just tested with proper 1-dot only, same result.

Interested to hear what the problem actually was after your conversation with Foresight.

My "Putter" 30-day trial is still active on my quad even though I actually purchased the putting module. When I asked if it should be showing the trial still, they said it would disappear in 30 days and just go back to normal (with module included).

                We'll see!

Yeah, that looks like there is no club data on the quad as hat is not how a club data enabled 1-dot mode looks like.

Probably. Dumb suggestion, but have you tried turning club data off and then back on?

If that doesn't work you definitely need to get FS support involved.

Yep, i think I’ve tried everything I can now.

I’ve toggled club data off and on (it switches between the green and blue lights), updated firmware, reset etc.

I’m assuming if club data wasn’t fully enabled it would say “NA” just like on putting.

Thing is, a Quad without club data shouldn’t display clubhead speed or smash factor, so something must be wrong in the config.

FS rep isn’t sure either, so he’ll contact FS on Monday.

Never saw GCQ screen like that..interesting. 1 dot will still show attack angle. I think you should send out for repair.

Might have found the culprit...in the About menu under Features it’s showing club data as off.

This is obviously inconsistent with the tracking mode showing club data as enabled...I get clubhead speed and smash factor, the different hitting area sizes, the green and blue lights etc.

So, something is out. Firmware update or rollback needed I reckon, though might also be a licensing issue. Anyone’s guess as to how they configure these things.

Will let you all know what FS say.

So...seems like a licensing issue after all. FS rep confirmed that the license he had purchased for club data had not been correctly allocated to my machine.

Is being resolved, but something to look out for I guess.

AdamV ok so my putting trial just ran out on my gcquad and my club data is exactly doing what yours did. What do I need to do to fix it? Call foresight on Monday? Nothing I can do to fix it????
