  • GC2/HMT minimum software requirement to utilize HMT function

    Hi all,

is it possible to use the club data function without FR1/FSX/FSX2019? I have learned from reading the forum articles that TGC/TGC2019 will not provide HMT data function.
    Appreciate your feedback.

You don't need ANY software to view club data or ball data. It shows up on the GC2 LCD screen.

So, the GC2 with HMT will show you the club path(in to out, out to in) and location of contact? I guess my real question is, without the FS software, would one be able to utilize the HMT function to help improve swing?

They are just numbers. It's club data. The only thing software can do with launch monitors is take ball data and translate that to an estimated ball flight.

Other then that, they are just displaying the numbers like the LCD screen. For club data, there is no benefit for having any kind of software.

If you don't know what to do with the club data for your swing, you probably shouldn't spend 5k on an HMT. Or you can go to a teach pro, or do some research online to figure out what the club data numbers mean.

It depends. Because while both show data (gc2 ball, hmt club), they won't visualize it so you won't know how the ball flew or landed, or how the club was struck in relation to the path and etc.

If you don't want to pay anything, I recommend you just get the iPad software which I think is more than enough for game improvement.

Concur with Leo. Just use the iPad app if you want an intuitive interface for the HMT numbers. Totally free app (at least it was when I got it) and actually a bit more user friendly than FSX on the data side.

If I’m connected to third party software I use the sim software to see ball flight and look at the GC2 screen to get club head data.
