  • Reflective dot location for GC2/HMT

    Hi all,

how exact the reflective dot location on clubs for HMT needs to be? For example, instruction says to place the dot on between the 6th and 7th groove of irons. does it make a difference if I placed the dots on the 5th and 6th groove or 7th and 8th groove?

Not exact but if the stickers that give you lie angle aren’t the same your lie angle wont be.

So, I started out putting the dots where they said. It made the impact look really, really low because nobody hits it that far up the face. I moved all my dots to the fifth groove (at least for most), so the measurements were relative to as high as I would ever want to hit the ball. Wedges were a few lines higher since they had less space between grooves. Works great; wouldn't change it back. Short answer is put them wherever it makes sense for you. As mentioned, as long as left/right side are the same, it won't affect lie and it doesn't seem to affect the other readings other than displayed sweet spot for impact.
