  • GC2 height in relation to the Fiberbuilt hitting mat

    Hi,

based on the forum's overwhelming feedback, I purchased a Fiberbuilt hitting mat. 5x4 (with 1x3 hitting strip). It's quite elevated off the floor. My GC2 picks up the ball but should I have the GC2 on the same level/height as the mat? Thanks in advance for feedbacks.

I actually have it about an inch or so above the hitting surface. I have the foresight metal case and the bottom of that is the same height as the hitting surface.

I found I got best results when my GC2 is actually higher than the mat.

What you need to have to eliminate any problems is the GC2 at the same height as the mat and in a fixed position relative to the hitting area. In my case, using a CCE mat, the GC2 sits on the small mat at a fixed location defined by small metal strips in the back and to the sides of the GC2.

The idea is to have the same orientation day in and day out so any problems with shot recognition are not related to the orientation of the GC2 moving around. My sim setup is in my garage and the area is used for other things so getting the orientation back to the same place easily and consistently is a must. The mat and GC2 mat are located with concrete anchors drilled into the floor and secured with bolts into these anchors.

Mine is 1 inch above the mat. Through trial and error i like it there.

Mine is about 1 inch above mat too and my framed in hitting turf stance mat with fiberbuilt strip needed painted green. The wood color impacted gc2 for whatever reason I don't know. Paint fixed it.

With the GC2 unit at the same height or slightly above the hitting matt what issues are we seeing/preventing from these positions???

                  Draw bias possibly?

The higher the less draw according to some.
