  • Top 5 FSX 2018 Courses?

I have FSX 2018 and a Quad and currently only have the 5 courses that come with it plus Pebble Beach... I'm looking to add 3-5 courses and was wondering what you guys thought were the best standard courses available right now... Whether it be the best graphics or most fun or most accurate rendition...

    Thanks in Advance

This comes up all the time and the fact of the matter is it depends on what you like. You can see most of the courses on my site and get an idea of what they look like, how long they are and what teeing options you have. They just came out with Longleaf which is a US Kids course. It's a really nice one and has a great selection of tees for shorter hitters. That one is not on my site yet which is why I mention it. You can check it out on youtube.

I just got Longleaf and really like how it has such a range of distances (don't remember exactly, but 6500-7000 range). The back tees are a normal course range while the short ones are like 2500.

Ok thanks... Ive been to your site and watched a lot of your flyovers, but relatively new to Sim Golf and dont know what I like yet. Not sure if its better to have courses Ive played or want to play, is tree lined and water important so you have to be more precise, are some of the courses buggy or bad graphics. Right now Im thinking:

    1. Coeur D'Alene
    2. Colonial
    3. Castle Stuart Or Carnoustie
    4. La Jolla Pines
    5. Quail Hollow

Am I on the right track, is there any glaring omission, etc.
    Thanks in Advance

Those are good choices. Personally I'd pick Castle Stuart over Canoustie it just has more character IMO.

The site that mmlincon has created is an invaluable resource to anyone who has FSX 2018 - I've used it extensively for selecting courses. I think that you have a very good list. I don't own Castle Stuart, but I really enjoy the challenge (and history) of Carnoustie. I like CDA and La Jolla a lot and both would be on a top-10 for me. Here are some other favorites of mine that you might want to consider:

        * Egypt Valley - I might be a little biased as a Michigander, but I love the layout and the fairness of the challenge
        * Olazabal - A lot of fun to play, plus an extra par-5 and par-3 than the normal setup
        * Big Sur - really beautiful ocean views and some great risk/reward shots

I do have a quick question. Once you buy some courses, how quickly are they available to you? What is the process?

It depends on how you buy, rep vs sales site. If you get the order in early ( PST ) you should have the course activated by the end of the day. I've have it take until the next day. It does require a support rep to activate the course though. It's not automated.
