Searched through forum unable to find answer. Foresight recommends 12 feet between screen and GC2. I am changing my set up a bit. I would think 8 to 10 feet from screen would work out ok?

The GC2 only reads the ball for like 18 inches so you can put it anywhere.My Courses:

Yes that will work with the GC2. For safety reasons, don't get too close.Comment

As stated you can put if anywhere after 18 or so inches from the center of the GC2. In my case it's 7.5 feet.
The only caveat is how much the ball springs back from the screen and any tubing you may have adjacent to the screen. If you have the screen really taught or have exposed pipe you can hit then your distance depends on how well you could do as an NHL goalie i.e. how fast are your ducking/deflection/catching reflexes.Comment

Ok I'm looking at swapping my garmin for a GC2 so this would really help the use of my garage. If ball is only seen for 18" of so I don't need 8 feet to impact screen and say I went 6feet that saves me 2 feet there plus the 8 feet behind the ball that garmin needsComment

Just be careful here. I mean, 6 feet will work technically, but it is awfully close to the impact screen and you may get more bounce back than you’re comfortable with. 8 to 10 feet is fairly standard with 8 feet as an accepted min distance. Again, not saying it won’t work, but it is pretty close, and too close for my personal comfort. YMMV.Comment
