Okay all, I need some help deciding what to purchase. I currently have a SkyTrak with TGC19 and love it. I would like something to track club data so I am in the market for a GC2 or GCQuad. Would it be better to keep the SkyTrak and go with the GCQuad or sell the SkyTrak and get the GC2, so I can keep TGC19? Is TGC19 better with GC2? Both the GC2 and GCQuad would be with HMT.

GC2 or GCQuad

I had Skytrak/TGC when I first built my sim. It was always my intention to upgrade where I could, where funds and the actual installation permitted. I looked at all the Foresight stuff for a good hardware upgrade, and I considered Quad but the fact that Quad is locked to FSX was a deal breaker for me. I settled on a GC2/HMT/FSX2018 package as I was not prepared to lose TGC /TGC 19 which is simply unbeatable in terms of value and course variety.
I find I use FSX Range for swing training because it displays the club data from the HMT and has camera integration built in,but rarely fire up the 5 standard courses that I got with FSX to play sim golf on. In my personal opinion TGC 19 Lidar courses in particular are head and shoulders over the Foresight courses. There are more courses within TGC 19 than you could possibly play , All the big names are there, if you want to build a good Foresight course library , deep pockets are required. My view is that the Foresight course offerings are vastly overpriced , I think if the pricing of the courses was more realistic , they would get more sales , but for sheer choice and variety TGC19 is hard to beat.
These are only my opinions , others have different experience and views, just trying to add to the thread.

I agree with every word of this post!!! FSX courses do not hold a candle to TGC courses ! I've purchased a couple extra courses from Foresight after I first got my system because I thought there had to be something better then the 5 courses that come with FSX2019 ........ there is not. The graphics are not even close.
As to switching your license to GC2. I think it's a free one-time-Only change with Protee. O pen a ticket with them a they will send you a new key.

You seem like you might know....I am quite confused.
I already have a Foresight GC2 and I like it.
However, I want more courses than the 5 on FSX.
Based on reading your post, you have the GC2 unit and you are able to play on TGC19 courses/software....
BUT.... when I go to the website to purchase TGC19, it clearly states : 1] This software is NOT compatible with Foresight GC2.
I want to understand if there is a way for me to purchase a TGC19 and play using my GC2.....?
If so, is there a different version of the TGC19 software that is compatible?
I'd really like to solve this.

So I have recently purchased a GC2 to replace my Skytrak. I was always going to use TGC but I do also like to practice on the range so did consider FSX. At 3K a pop it was a no go, I am going to keep my Skytrak and use the range for warm up and practice and still be better off finacially. It will also save the flash which I didn't realise was £500

Andyg after market 150ish sell your skytrak and buy 10 flashes.

Simmb, if you can find an FR1 dongle for sale, they go for about £500, and it has a good practice range.
Or use the free Foresight app. It doesn’t show ball flight, and is nowhere near as good as the SkyTrak app, but will give you the data you need for range practice.
I use Schogolf app with Perfect Golf. Although PG isn’t available now, I don’t know if you can use Schogolf with TGC or other software.
And what Wizard says👆

I have to chime in and say that I love my Quad. It's more reliable and fewer potential problems down the road, from what I hear as well. no flash, everything integrated, easy to take to the range, alignment is easier, don't need a protective case for it.
TGC is nice and all and I thought I'd miss it but I really don't. FSX is great and I'm more than happy with it despite the occasional hiccup.
I vote Quad.

Quad is bullet proof.... no flash issues, miss reads etc . It’s a better engineered / integrated product vs the GC2/HMT.
The question is what’s driving your decision...... Hardware or Software.
Software..... GC2 has more options .
Hardware..... Quad hands down

I’ve heard lots of Quads are connected to TGC already. I’m sure someone will introduce an interface soon. If you’re a money is no object kind of guy buy the quad. Newer and cooler. It’s better but not talking skytrak to GC2 better. It’s just better. If you’re a I want a solid solution and have to save up, buy the GC2. You won’t miss anything. Not sure why flashes are such a big deal. I used the old style flashes it it came with for 3 years then bought Andy’s flash to try. 2 more years and I’m a whole 150 bucks into flashes. That’s 30 bucks a year on flashes and the original ones work fine.My Courses:

I didn’t know they have the quad working with TGC yet. Are they reading the screen for the data or how are they pulling it? I agree on the flash, it’s not expensive buying from Andy and takes only two screws to remove.

Wizard of Coz has anyone published any video of this working? I thought it was still in development.

I agree. Full disclaimer I don't use TGC.
I had GC2 + HMT. For me portability was most important. I wanted to be able to take the Foresight to the range to get readings and even more important take it with me on a round. With the Quad i can take it for a round of golf, if i want to get readings for a shot (whether it's a drive or an approach shot) i just drop it on the fairway where my ball is and hit away. I tried to do this with GC2+HMT but was too much of a hassle with the link cable needed and the shape of the GC2/HMT setup.
Absolutely love the Quad. Also helped I got a great deal on a used one.
With Quad everything is in one solid body. I throw the Quad in my golf bag and take it with me to the course. Wouldn't trade it for any software regardless of how good it is. I also have FSX which is fine and good enough for the few winter months I am hitting balls in my garage.
I also have putting on my Quad which I haven't played with too much. This winter I do want to work on my putting so will be looking for tips and best practice on how to best utilize the Quad putting.

Is the Quad/TGC integration method something that can be shared please.? Not many people seem to be aware of how to do that , and a lot of people myself included thought that Quad/TGC was not possible due to the encryption of bluetooth. I was aware of the experiments regarding screen reading and heard that some users had managed to utilise TGC . Understand if not for public consumption .

I think that if you are going to use it and not move it, then the GC2+HMT would be a good option to go with and you get more options in terms of software, plus you save a bunch of money. If you need to take the unit with you and you need to take HMT as well and want a simple set up solution then I think this is where getting a Quad would come into play. If you want the latest and greatest, then of course the Quad is the way to go with Foresight.

At the PGA Show, Foresight mentioned that E6 will soon work with GCQuad and GCHawk. They did not give out any specifics (release date, if it was E6 Connect, etc.), but they said it was happening and would be announced very soon! While TGC is arguably better, to have E6 working with the GCQuad does make the decision that much harder (GC2 or GCQuad)!
