GC2 not connecting to HMT

    GC2 not connecting to HMT

    I bought a second hand HMT to connect to my GC2. However when I plug it into my GC2 it doesn’t connect (HMT does not power up and isn’t recognised by GC2 in any way).

    I have plugged the HMT into the GC2 at my local pro shop and it works (HMT powers up, GC2 recognises it). so I don’t think that the problem is with the HMT unit.

    I have upgraded the firmware on the GC2, run the battery fully down and fully recharged, taken the panel off the back of the GC2 and checked the pins on the connection that the HMT plugs into to make sure nothing bent and no obvious issue with welds. I can’t make it work...
    has anyone had a similar issue?
    any ideas on how to fix?

    Did you use your cable or their cable at the shop? I’d start there

      a sharp suggestion, if I may say so, and a cheap solution if that's the problem. If mthunt is right Forget about trying to find a cable, buy it directly at the foresight online shop

        I used my cable....my GC2 is an 8xxx serial number where the pro shop’s was 12xxx serial number. Is there any reason why mine wouldn’t be compatible?

          I've never heard of an issue like that. By the serial number I'd guess the hmt is fairly new. The gc2 is likely 4-5 years old if I had to guess on that. I wonder if the mount that the hmt sits on is problem. Maybe it's not seating down? There is a small piece of metal on the top of it, I'd assume it's metal for some reason.

            Try bringing your whole rig somewhere with another rig and swapping out parts until to you troubleshoot the problem. Could be the mount, the HMT or The GC2

                No. Not found a solution...
                I know that Foresight will rip my eyes out on $$$$ if I have to send it to them to be fixed.

                  i have to ask what is the HMT and why is it needed with this set up?

                    HMT is an add on that measures the club head characteristics. The GC2 measures the ball flight.
