Pre-Owned GCQUAD Info

New to the forum and looking to build an in home garage sim. A little overwhelming with the amount of info to consider but my biggest question surrounds purchasing a gcquad monitor.

I received a quote for a new one but would love to save some $ to dedicate to the rest of the build. I'm sure this is a loaded question, but what do I need to be on the lookout for or leary of when purchasing a preowned gcquad?

I can see making the wrong decision could be a costly mistake and hoping some of you veterans are willing to help!

You will want the owners info, the serial number and you will want to call Foresight before paying a cent.

You don’t see too many though and prob fewer since now works with e6. I would see if there is a PGA Show special.

When did the quad start working with e6? This is the first I heard about it.

I went through this as I bought a used Quad. This is the steps I took.

Get the serial number from the seller. Ask if it includes club data and putting. Ask if they have the registration key for the FSX license and if possible get the person's username and password for their FSX account so you can unregister the key from whatever computer they had it installed on (you can easily change the username and password after you get access to the credentials).

Reach out to Foresight and give them the serial and ask them what it comes with, verify it has club/putting if possible. They may want to take a $1000 transfer payment from you. Thankfully I bought a new GC2 from them and they were very nice to waive the transfer fee for the Quad since I was already in their system. This was nice as I had to reach out to Foresight for some FSX technical support and they were very accommodating to me as an "existing customer". It might be helpful to have the current owner's name, but i don't think that's entirely necessary if you have the serial of the unit.

When you make the sale and pay, get the FSX credentials from the seller right away while you wait for them to ship the Quad and change the password to secure the account and unregister the existing FSX license from the seller's computer online in the FSX portal. If you don't have the license key written down prior, make sure you WRITE IT DOWN before you deactivate it online as it disappears. For me the seller forwarded me his original email from Foresight that had the license key info. The original email from Foresight also had the username and password to the FSX account that they assigned to the seller. This is important if the seller doesn't know the username and password or never used it (ask the seller for the email).

I absolutely LOVE my Quad. Without a doubt the best purchase I have made for myself in years. Blows away the GC2 from a portability standpoint. I take my Quad to the driving range and even on the golf course to practice and get numbers. Doing the same with a GC2 + HMT was a hassle.

Awesome writeup! Just out of curiosity, did you purchase the unit though this forum? Haven't seen many quads available and I missed out on one over on the golfwrx site. Been kicking myself ever since...
