    Problems with HMT

    Hi everybody!

I finally got my used GC2 HMT two weeks ago. The GC2 works great and I also was able to get TGC to work. Unfortunately I do have issues with the HMT.

When I hit a 7 iron everything seems to be right. The club data matches the ballflight and is plausible. Also the location on the clubface seems to be right.

When I hit driver the HMT only gets about every second shot. The data it shows is really wrong most of the time. Clubspeed often is much too high and doesn’t match ballspeed. Clubface is always open to clubpath (sometimes extremely open) but I always hit draws. Location on clubface doesn’t seem to be right as well.

I used stickers I got from the club fitter I bought the GC2 from and also stickers from dotsforsale.

I also do not know how the leds of the HMT are supposed to look like. Mine are red in the upper circle an off in the lower circle when I place a ball. Is that normal or do I have a led problem?

    Ivo

Post pictures of the dots on both clubs. If one is working and the other is not, I would suspect dot issues.

It looks like the driveway stake you are using to align the GC2 with might have some reflective tape on it? That could be causing some interference since the reflective tape is a material similar to the HMT dots.

I will post a picture of the driver dots tomorrow.

What do you think of the LEDs?

The stick is just white. I will try without it!

The LEDs look normal. The kickstand of the GC2 isn't in the correct position either. That might be causing the HMT to be at a weird angle.

              Hi again!

I did some testing yesterday. The stick and the kickstand didn't change anything. Then I moved the GC2 because I thought it maite be a problem with the lighting. I have a LED-spot directly above the ballposition. That helped a bit and the HMT was able to give me the data for the driver. Balllocation seems to be ok now but I still get weired numbers for face to path. Always open with the driver despite drawspin. It isn't a heelhit issue, I am always hitting it towards the toe.
I forgot to mention that I don't get any data from my 58°-wedge. As it is very new and shiny I tried an older one as well with a rusty face but that didn't help.

              Any other ideas?

I attached fotos of the clubs.

Is it really normal that the lower LEDs are off?

The dots can go way wider. Any damage on the dots and they stop working. Try new dots before you do anything. Also, Foresight dots or another kind?

I placed the dots (new, from dotsforsale) like it is showen in the manual, one marker width of the end of the line. Do you do that differently?

First of all the dots you are using might be the problem. Foresight dots work the best. I have my iron dots on the non groove part of the iron close to the edge. Works fine. I’ve tested many kinds of dots (ok 3) and got the best results with foresight. Those third party dots damage easily.
