    GC2 Misreads - Solved

    Hi All,

Nobody on this forum will probably see this issue, but wanted to make it aware for anyone who might.

Recently, my gc2 was sending me a ton of misreads. I was just getting the "--" for all of the fields.. I changed the flash, thinking my flash was going out. I cleared out my ipad, thinking I was running out of space and it was just sending the ipad nothing.

Nothing was working. Then I realized that my new golf shoes had reflective material on them. I got the airmax 97's shoes - https://news.nike.com/footwear/nike-air-max-97-golf

The flash system was picking up the reflective material and the unit was not seeing the ball. I took the shoes off and my unit was working again.

As I said, doubt anyone going to run into this issue, but just wanted to make everyone aware.

Those are some cool looking shoes! Luckily most golf shoes don’t have that reflective material on them, but I can imagine how they would blind the camera to the point that it loses track of the ball. Ironically, the GC2 started out as a Nike launch monitor, and now Nike’s are causing the issue.

Like the shoes - white shoes may do the same thing, and some white shafts and sometimes white heads.

I suspect the silver NRG shoes will also do the same!
