    Reshade for FSX 2018

I got it to work with FSX, but it says that it is unable to store the presets at the top, which constantly remains there. Also, does anyone have a real basic list of what functions help brighten/improve the graphics and also make the projection look better? Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

    Thread here:
For those interested I have Reshade working in FSX 2018. I discovered reshade when browsing the TGC 2019 forum. It’s a third party utility that adds significant graphical enhancements to games. I have the Optoma WU515tst projector and a premium Carl’s screen and its increased my enjoyment significantly. If folks are

Not done it with FSX yet, but messed aroud with basic settings in desktop TGC2019.

There are a coupe of videos online in terms of install and set up.

Thanks! I got it to run on FSX, but I don't think Foresight software likes it that much as it leaves me a message constantly at the top. It does work however, but that message stays. I was just wondering what settings people found helped best with brightness, sharpness, and color saturation.

Yes , I am also getting the message at the top of the screen. Tried uninstalling and then re-installing a couple of times but can't get rid of the script at the top of the screen. There are some settings listed that users are doing with TGC 19 in the Reshade Baby thread. I used them for TGC19 and they work well for me.

Found a screenshot of just some basic things that PittsburghRed posted. Tried the ones he had marked out and the projected image looks so much better!!! It is now much closer to my monitor, but it is still FSX graphics, so..............

Will now definitely try to install to TGC 2019. Hopefully, the program works better with that software

I was going through this with the new reshade updates. After messing with it for hours to get the "unable to use as presets" I finally got it. You need to right click on the fsx icon and run it as administrator. Can also right click n go into properties and click on the tabs to where theres a box to click where it's always ran into admin mode. Finally could get the presets to save. Let me know if u guys cant get it situated..

Nice catch! Hopefully, I can now get it to save the settings. I don't use too much, just like 7 or 8, but it would be great to not have to select them everytime. I can confirm that the projected image is much more vibrant. Still FSX graphics though......

Yeah, it was actually me who posted the before and after screenshots on TGC2019 on your thread.
Was just interested to see the difference in FSX2018 as I have just bought it but not set up yet.

To those who have done this: is it worth the effort? The tips above help, but combining softwares in this way worries me a bit (I know, conservative). If there is a material improvement I will have a go.

Particularly curious if anyone has tried it with FSX 2020.

With & without & the settings I use. Play around with all the filters. Everybody will like something different. I think it's worth it, makes it more vivid & its free...so why not?

Gotta say reshade has made it look definitely more vivid and better overall. FSX graphics are what they are (Really bad! I was in denial for a while cause it was so pricey, but let's call a spade a spade), The reshade app makes them appear more clear and the brightness is most important on the projected image. If you are stuck with FSX, USE RESHADE!!!!!
I would be more worried about FSX hurting reshade vs. reshade hurting FSX. I'm starting to think my 10 year old niece could design graphics for FSX

Thanks! I've got it working, without the band at the top of the screen. A huge amount of parameters to play with in Reshade, no doubt more than I need. It will take some experimenting to decide which effects are best, and what settings. But it makes a big difference for sure.
