  • Swapping between Left and Right Hand Players

Hi, I am seriously close to pulling the trigger on a GCQ system. Primarily (call it 85% of the time we will be using the Sim right handed. We do however have several friends who (after this whole lock-down clears) will be joining us to use the sim. What is involved in swapping it from side to side for a round of golf with a lefty? Does the GCQ have to be aligned in some form or fashion each time? I am assuming that thought the ideal connection is via USB that you would want to be using WIFI to connect to the PC? What am I missing?

    Thanks - Jason

What I thought was weak was that after moving the GCQuad you have to tap Left or Right to change the handedness mode. The software knows whether a right or left handed player is up but you still have to manually change the mode on the GCQuad. I’m surprised a device of this expense and complexity can’t switch to the appropriate handedness automatically. I called support and they confirmed that it had to be changed manually. Hopefully development can make that change. Should be easy since the computer and GCQuad are connected and communicate.

Not a deal breaker but disappointed considering the expense of hardware and software.

    I would appreciate any thoughts.
You set up the player in left or right handed. When it goes to them the software switches. If the ball is offset it switches sides. It works this way no problem. I have 2 GC2’s and say bob is left and Jim is right. Bobs turn its automatically set up left and visa versa.

It might switch the GC2s but not the GCQuad

TGC doesn't know what's plugged in. It switches sides if done right.

Yep. Works flawlessly on Skytrak but I’m not sure the software will be able to switch the mode on the GCQuad. Haven’t tried TGC with GCQuad yet. If FSX2020 can’t switch the mode I doubt that TGC will know how to switch mode on GCQuad.

I didn't know the quad had to be switched from left to right manually. The GC2 does it simply which side you put the ball on..

Yep. I am surprised that a high caliber LM like the GCQuad has this deficiency. Hopefully this will be addressed.
