FSX 2020 making courses unplayble

Downloaded fsx 2020 two days ago and hugely disappointed as everyone else, even for a free upgrade. One major issue is that when playing a round on any course, scoring is totally messed up. Instead of keeping the correct score, it starts with -2.0 for the first hole and counts -1.0 for every whole afterwards. Is it the same for everyone? Does anyone know how to fix it?

I have this issue as well when playing with auto putt. Basically the running score on the course screen does not add the auto putts to your score compared to par. So if you hit the first green in regulation you will be -2, next hole miss GIR and chip on, now -3, hit the green on #3 then you would be -5.

Not certain what happens with gimmies. I did play a few holes where I hoped everything out and this issue did not exist.

The scorecard view is correct and also what gets recorded in your FSX account.

This is pretty annoying though.

Damn. I’ve rolled back to 2018 for now. Hope they fix the issue soon.

Why can't you just putt or do gimmies inside 3 feet and putt to there?

It seems if you have a handicap entered in your profile it is adjusting your score based on that. I just entered myself as zero and it scored true. Can’t seem to find an option to turn off adjusted scoring. It just seems to do it automatically now

Nothing to do with handicap. It is zero by default. I see you arent talking about auto putt and that is the whole point of this discussion. For those who think auto putt is not "real golf", guess what, sim golf is not real golf. I find it a good measure of how you are hitting it into the green.

I don’t use auto put but I would give the zero handicap thing a try. It’s works fine for me

Good grief - wheover heads the testing should be fired. That is unforgiveable!
Three grand software and the developers can't even add shots and get a correct score!

Played the new Crosswater v3.0 last night .

Feedback:
1) Overall course is done well. Feels open and realistic.
2) Graphics . Good for FSX (avg compared to E6
etc)
3) Bugs : sound is intermittent... this is aggravating as it feels very sterile when the sound goes out ....it seems to be tied to ball location on the Hole/ Course . Not sure of Foresight’s logic on this

I've played a good number of rounds on 2020 since release and no sound problems on all the courses I've played.

I just play with 6 foot gimmes. Haven’t tried any other modes of putting. Soon as I adjusted my handicap to zero it worked perfectly. I’ve played 4 rounds since the upgrade with no issues. Did you try adjusting your handicap and are still having the same issue?

What are you guys all talking about? There is nothing wrong with 2020. Not sure why anyone uses autoputt either. Putt it, like you do when you are playing and if that sucks, do gimmies within a certain distance to the hole. Like 3 feet or something. That assumes you made the putt if it's that close.

That is a weird flex. If Foresight is going to include something in the game it should work properly. I love auto putting for two reasons:

1. I can play 18 holes in less than 30 minutes and if I want to work on putting practice I have cups built into the floor around my sim.

2. I have almost 50 courses in my library and other than the two courses I'm a member at I haven't played many rounds on the other courses. I do not know the breaks at all on those greens so on top of that I have to really study the breaks which also adds time.

Agreed, it should work but if you use auto putt who cares what your score is? The QA at Foresight is joke. Thinking it's headed up by some moronic family member or something. Doesn't make sense.

I couldn't recreate the issue with a handicap of 8 or zero on 3 ft gimmies. The issue still persisted regardless of handicap for auto putt.

I’m the same way. My profile has defaulted handicap to 0. That said, I’ve reinstalled FSX2020 now because somehow the latest version of 2018 crashes when I try to play a course. So annoying...

Did you install the 3.0 courses? That would be why 2018 would crash. 3.X requires 2020

I care that it works...it would still give you an approximation of what your 18 hole score would be. Heck...when I do play with putts I can hit an almost perfect putt...going in the center at a fine speed and it will lip out. Same things with chips...they hit the flag and don't go in way more times than they should. So what does that say about scoring???

That’s not 2020. That is crappy simulation and I can’t stand that is does that. It’s like the lip is wood instead of grass and dirt.

That was there on previous versions as well.

I'm glad I am not the only one who hates all the lip-outs. They should be able to tweak that to make it more forgiving, i.e., something like realistic. I use 6-foot gimmes for putting. Even then it's pretty frustrating how few 7-10 footers go in the hole. At the same time though, 3-putts are fairly rare so it somewhat balances out.

Maybe the scoring problem is handicap-related. I will try setting mine to zero. Of course that eliminates the possibiity of playing Stableford etc. FORESIGHT JUST FIX IT PLEASE!! It is ridiculous that people have to discuss this.
