Just Pulled the trigger on a GCQ, FSX2020 + Club Data

Now I need to pick some courses.
Other than the 5 standard courses which come with GCQ, here are the ones I am considering. Please let me know opinions on good/bad/others. Looking for a mix of course styles and difficulty. Budgeted for 10-12 standard courses. Also prefer courses based on real courses rather than fantasy courses (I think). Also - newer courses I assume are better represented graphically?
    1. Coeur D'Alene
    2. Mission Hills Olazabal Course
    3. Doral Blue Monster
    4. Big Sur Country Club
    5. Pelican Hill
    6. Castle Stuart Golf Links
    7. Carnoustie Golf Links
    8. Royal Birkdale
    9. Abu Dhabi Golf Club
    10. Congressional Country Club
    11. Colonial Country Club
    12. Marina Bay Golf Course.
What am I missing - what should I swap in / delete? Lastly, I would appreciate thoughts on Premium courses. Worth-it? Which one(s) would you get?

    Thanks in advance, Jason

Hold off on deciding courses until we all see/hear that the 2020 bugs get worked out and which courses get upgraded to 3.0 series first. E6 is coming later April and you may find you want to put that money towards E6 and the reported better graphics and playability and just use FSX for club data and game improvement and use E6 for VR game play.

I can tell you Pelican Hill on FSX is terrible . Graphics look like a cartoon and the greens are not playable due to slope.

Its interesting because Pelican Hill on E6 was my absolute favorite....

Goes to show the attention to detail matters.

Good to know Hacksalot - Pelican Hill Out. Keep 'em coming please as I need to provide these to my rep today (part of my package).

Gdfein - package deal so I will get the 10 courses now but yes, very keen on the details of E6 as well as which courses will get facelifts.

Big Sur is fictional. I'd probably swap that out for Longleaf if you want all real. It would give you a Pinehurst type course and it's got the most teeing options. It's a US Kids course. It's no joke from the back tees either.

What I have found with the courses anything with severe drops don't really show the true drop in elevation. You think you have one or two clubs less but I have found that not the case. Anything uphill is definately more club. That one they nailed. I have Pebble, it is ok what seems off on that course more than the others is Chipping. Seems to really jump at Pebble. Conway Farms, Rush Creek, Quarry Giants are all fun. Tracks like Quail Hallow, Merion and Oakmont, you better hit it really straight. they are tough. I also have Carnoustie and Kingsbarns which can be fun. The Par 3 Roulanda is fun for closest to the pin contest with friends. Good Luck and enjoy.

Yeah, the other thing is spin on those elevation drops. Like on Pebble #7. I live near PB and have played it a ton and you always get so much more spin on it due to the elevation drop but somehow my shots with my lob wedge hit the green and roll. Uhh, no...not gonna happen.

CDA, Olazabal, and Doral are awesome and are among my favorite standard courses. Congressional and Carnoustie are iconic and definitely good enough on FSX. Not crazy about Big Sur and believe it is fictional. I don't own the rest on your list. As far as courses not on your list, I really like Egypt Valley (great, but tough) and La Jolla.

Colonial and Coeur D'Alene are two of my favorites. Just played Big Sur for the first time this week and I enjoyed it.

I added 3 to the included 5 and chose:
                          Kingsbarns
                          Warwickshire
                          Wentworth

But then I am from the UK

There are fly over videos of pretty much every course on youtube.
                          e.g:

                          Wentworth

You have a pretty good list. Based on recent experience you will have to hope they upgrade to the 3.0 versions soon. Carnoustie and Coeur d'Alene already there. Kingsbarns is better than royal Birkdale (my two favourite courses I have ever played in real life). I like Chicago Highlands more than Olazabal which I think is not great.
