FSX Mobile

Hello - I am trying to ease my way into a sim/launch monitor purchase (if there is such a thing). I pretty much have decided on a GC2 but am weighing trying to get a CPO unit vs going with one of Foresight's new/bundled packages. I'm having a hard time getting over the 3K software costs.

Can anyone comment on how the FSX Mobile and/or club fitting software they have works? Like could I get by just with that for a short period while I try to find a better deal on simulator software...I know you can use E6, TGC, etc with the GC2 vs using FSX.

The mobile software itself looks like something I would be fine with based on screen shots in the Apple and Google play stores but the reviews were less than stellar and actually pretty bad. Maybe these were people though trying to use it though without actual Foresight units, idk. Can anyone give any feedback on their apps? Do they work, issues, etc? Thanks in advance.

You will need an FSX 2018/2020 license to use FSX Mobile. You can use the basic fitting apps for free but they don't give you any simulated ball flight. Just a 2d view and data points.

If you want to utilize on the GC2s capabilities for training - there is no real way around getting FSX. TGC and E6 could be decent option if you just want to play and do not mind certain elements that are "unrealistic". Did you get an HMT as well? The club data is not supported in the current third party options and FSX is the only way to go.

Thanks. It sounds like there is no way around FSX...I kind of figured this although thats not exactly the impression I got from the Foresight sales rep. I think the software cost is kind of outrageous give the price of the unit but it is what it is I guess. I do definitely want to get into the game improvement and training, probably more than the simulation stuff.

I can afford it (right now) but mostly fighting this battle with my wife at the moment who thinks the whole concept is dumb lol. So was trying to defer some of the costs til down the road to not take such a hit up front...

That’s exactly what I did. Bought the Quad first and just used the FSX fitting app. Over about two months I then bought FSX2018 and built my sim.

The whole experience is so much better with the sim, but I still use the FSX app for hitting into an outdoor net and at the range.

FSX mobile is very average. Unstable Bluetooth connection and the range is pretty poor (ball rolls out for miles if you miss the green, ground condition changes don’t apply properly etc)
