    GCQuad Wi-fi & Bluetooth problems

Hi. I've just purchased a brand new GCQuad and I cant see its Wi-fi or Bluetooth signals. I was told to connect it to a PC and FSXlive which I've done but I still cant connect to a Iad os Iphone. Has anyone else had this problem? Also mine wasn't delivered to me boxed up, just sat in the carry bag they gave to me as part of the deal. Did anyone else receive their's like this? Thanks

What app are you trying to use on your iPad?

You won’t see the Bluetooth connection for a GCQ in your iPad settings, the GCQ connects from within the FSX apps (FSX mobile and the FSX performance fitting app).

Wifi is by far the most stable way to connect to a GCQ. You should be able to see the GCQ wifi from your iPad settings, connect to it (you’ll need a password which they hopefully gave you) and then the device will show up as active within FSX on PC or on the apps.

Hope that makes sense. And yes, my Quad came in a carry bag with power lead, warranty documentation, alignment rod and silver HMT dots.

Thanks for the reply. The GCQuad Wi-Fi isn't visible on any of my Apple devices when I look at the Wi-Fi settings. I can see all the other ones around me but not CGQuad. They have given me a password but I cant connect to it. I've tried both the Apps you said but my IPad Pro wont connect to the Quad on either. Very frustarting.

The name of your Wifi is the Name/Serial of your Quad. You should always see it if it's on and pretty sure there is no way to turn off the Wifi.

You got that you do the BT connection through the Foresight APP and not through the iPhone settings, right?

      Yep, that’s frustrating.

The wifi name should be “GCQXXXXX” and you can find the five digit serial number under About on the GCQuad main menu. I would try and manually connect to it.

Failing that, I know when I bought my Quad the dealer told me he had encountered an issue like this with the wifi router at the golf club he was setup. iPad just couldn’t connect to the Quad and it was some interference between the 2.4 & 5GHz networks. Hopefully that’s not your issue and a simple firmware reset or rollback will solve it.

I got mine packaged in the backpack as well. No issues at all. Sorry to hear you are having connection issues. The info here is all good stuff. Foresight support has been great when i needed them. Best of luck.

Thanks guys. Yes I know the Bluetooth connection is through the App but that doesn't work either. Wifi doesn't show at all. Hopefully FS will sort this for me tomorrow.

Hmm. I have found the wifi connection slightly unstable so I normally use the USB. Not as elegant but I've found it works better. But, I can always see the wifi and could use it if I wanted to. You need to get a dongle for that if you want to stay connected to the internet at the same time.

Yes I also got my GCQ in the backpack with the accessories.

His issue is connecting with apple devices though, not to PC.

If you haven't yet, I'd reinstall the latest firmware whether you have the latest version or not, just reinstall it and see if that helps.

              Hi,

I figured why some wifi couldn't detect GCQ. The Quads wifi uses 5ghz, so if the router/ipad doesn't support dual band, it'll not see the Quad.

My issue with FSX Mobile, i tried connecting with WIFI, it's connected but no shots were tracked, switch to BT, shots picked up but the connection is not stable.

I'm having this same problem...connecting to wifi, but no data shows. Data shows with bluetooth but it is very unstable. did you fix the wifi issue?
            Working...
