GCQuad Firmware Updates

I haven’t updated my firmware since early-mid 2019, but I know there is a newer version (could have been more than one since then).

Everything is working really well so I’m kind of reluctant to update, but does anyone know if there was an important improvement made in the last, say, 12 months that I could be missing?

Paranoid that I’ll be one of the unlucky ones who experiences some random problem from updating firmware (there’s always one!). Imagine I can always rollback as I have the old firmware file.

I suppose a better question here might be - whose running the latest firmware (2.2.7.9) and is everything including HMT working fine?

I have updated every firmware and the only problem I’ve ever seen is that the latest firmware said it took when it did not. I’ve never seen anything negative from a firmware update. Usually, it is adding a feature or improving the readings. I’ve never heard of anyone having a problem updating a quad.

Great feedback, thanks. It probably is more GC2 that I’ve noticed comments around update issues, but I thought I’d maybe seen some Quad problems too.

When I bought my GCQ I had all these issues with the HMT license not sticking, took weeks to resolve with FS support. Don’t want to upset things and have to deal with FS, but would prefer to run the latest firmware.

I'm running a firmware on my GC2 from 2013. I don't know what the benefit of changing is.

It’d be nice if FS provided release notes. I assume tweaks to ball flight algorithms, things that cause misreads, club data capture?
