Does FSX work with AMD

I know they say that FSX only works with Nvidia GPUs. But has anyone tried on AMD and see if it works?

Terrible graphics, blurred at times, slow play. I reached out to them . . . There is a reason they do not recommend AMD.

Hmm.. interesting. AMD cards are widely used for other games. Not sure why it doesn’t work for FSX. I would think that they designed FSX for Nvidia cards. Thanks for sharing.

Agree, as I was surprised AMD performed poorly. I was using with the Foresight FR1.

I had to swap out my AMD for a Nvidia card that had far worse score on 3D Mark.

Just a guess but they probably did a lot of their programing with CUDA - which is an NVidea specific interface and libraries for GPU computations.

AMD cpu with Nvidia gpu works just fine. That's my setup and have zero issues.

I have AMD 7 with Nvidea 1660 Ti…. Downloaded FSX 2020 last week, it keeps freezing after every 10-15 mins and I have to start all over again. Any advice how to tackle it ? Thanks!

I recommend downloading all of the windows updates (don't upgrade to windows 11) and ensure you have the latest video card drivers. Since you have a laptop, it's possible the issue is elsewhere so download all other driver updates and install.

This may (or may not) address the problem.
