  • FSX and TGC

    Hey Fellas,

I have been playing a lot of FSX recently and only a round or two of TGC thrown in the mix. I have grown to really like the way FSX plays such as green and fairway firmness, green speed, and just some other minor things throughout. I have played with the settings in TGC a bit but cannot seem to replicate the feel of the courses. Is this possible or am I crazy for trying to do it? Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks.

Same here, I haven't opened TGC 2019 in a few weeks. I. switched from Skytrak to GC2 telling myself I would only need TGC 2019.

Then I missed the Skills Assesment and closest to the pin features from Skytrak so I purchased FSX 2020 and fell in love with it. It just feels like real golf and it is also nice having consistency in numbers from the range to competitions to courses. My yardages and shot shape was always different between FSX and TGC. Also being able to setup the driving range on actual golf holes and being able to play roujds of golf on select holes.

You have a lot more control in TGC2019 for that stuff. Not as much in TGC

TGC2019 is simply unreal. Took a few rounds to get used to the putting vs FSX, but overall it’s equally as good in terms of close to real life game play, maybe better. The real-life course recreations are just amazing. And you experience less lip outs putting.

I’m not sure I’ll spend a lot of time playing FSX courses for a while, but the range and skills stuff is superior on FSX.

mthunt ...I just realised that “unreal” might not be the best choice of words here! The reason TGC2019 is so good is because it’s actually very very real!

@Adam V, i guess the word you are looking for is surreal. Lol

Alex Ma ...to be in my garage playing Augusta National GC and Melbourne’s Kingston Heath GC (Heatherton Kings on TGC) is certainly surreal!
