GC2 Questions

Hi guys, I just picked up a used GC2 and have a quick question. I'm still waiting on my simulator room to be ready so in the mean time I'm using it outdoors in a net with my ipad and the free app. Everything is working great but I noticed a couple of weird things.

On a few shots I noticed in the app that it picked up all the data but peak height, range, offline, and descent angle were all set to zero. Have you guys seen this before? Could this be related to an old flash that may be dying?

I also get the occasional missed shot with all dashes, which from what I understand is probably the flash. It has an original flash installed so that makes sense and I have a new mega flash from Andy on the way. The app also crashes whenever this happens.

Are you experiencing the dashes on full shots or just partial wedge shots? I used to get some of these readings on partial shots with chrome finished wedges. Switched to the copper finished hi-toe wedges and it hasn't been a problem for me since.

It was on full shots only. Could've been the time of day and the sunlight because I didn't get any today. I think I might've figured out the missing data in the app too. It seems to be related to when the ipad locks the screen automatically. If the shot is taken right around the time it is locking it doesn't pick up those peak height, descent angle, and other stats.

I don't think the stats you mentioned are captured by GC2 but are calculated by the iPad app using the launch numbers the GC2 sends to it. Would make sense that these calculations in app could be interrupted by the locking process in IOS. GC2 camera can only see launch area versus down range.

Makes perfect sense and now that you mention it these stats start at zero for a second or two after all the other data pops up before they show up too.
