Getting FR-1 onto my new laptop with no CD drive

    Hi,

I'm trying to get FR-1 to work on my new laptop, but I don't have a CD drive to install it. I found this thread, and downloaded/installed the program:

I recently purchased a used GC2 which came with FR1 software Version 1.234.0009 and the green security dongle. I cannot locate the more recent version (1.291) online anywhere. The buddy who I purchased the GC2 from had his laptop crash - cannot access the hard drive any longer. Does anyone have the 'newest' FR1 software

Plugging in my dongle allows me access into the program, but there are no courses and I can't find a driving range either. I only own the Belfry, but it would be nice to have a backup to TGC and even more importantly, the range.

Does anyone have any idea on where I should go from here?

Oh, side question also- in the game settings it seems to have defaulted to the CPU graphics card, not my RTX 2080. Any idea on how to change that?

    Thanks,

    Bob

If you have the cd, just find a computer with a cd drive and move the files to a usb drive.....or get a usb cd drive

You’ll need to copy the courses and range files from your old computer into this folder:

        C-Program Files (x86 if you have a 64 but system)-Foresight-Courses

They should show up in the menu now. I’ve had issues in the last where the “Next” button isn’t clickable. I can’t remember exactly how to fix that, but if you have that issue, let me know and I’ll look it up in my notes.

Do you happen to have the course file? Foresight is a weird company- most of them that sell incredibly expensive software continue to service you after the fact, not abandon service because you didn't buy an incredibly expensive upgrade.

Sorry, I don't have that course. I do have the ranges. The files are usually on the large side, so copying them from the original computer is usually quicker.
        Working...
