I just ordered one. Big risk I know, but I've wanted an electric cart for a while and took the leap of faith based on a number of factors- $500 off for the launch, the fact that this purchase qualifies as a large enough one that my GC2 ownership is finally legitimate (I can order parts now) and the fact that I'm betting on it being an awesome product like the GC2 and GCQ.

I should see it Friday, first round with it that Sunday (8 days from now). I'll update once I get it.

The FS trolley looks quite lightweight and small compared to the Stewart. I have just sold an X7 Lithium. It’s way to big and heavy. Takes up most my boot and besides I have been carrying for 3 years.

Motocaddy do a small and lightweight electric cart.

the Stewart R1S push cart is nice and small. I have one for 36 hole days!

I have a Bag Boy Navigator, really like it ! Been using it for 3 years now with no issues. I have never out walked it. Played 36 in a day on a pretty hilly course, no problem. With it being 3 years old and Lithium battery this really peaked my attention.

The thing you will miss in any other remote vs a Navigator is the auto tracking. After having a cart with this feature the others are a major PITA since unless you are playing on a really flat course you have to drive most all the time. I had a Navigator 2 for about 10 years and finally got a Navigator Quad simply because the parts for the older model were becoming unavailable. I had several remote carts before the Navigator 2 and never realized how valuable the auto tracking is.

I'd be leery of any cart the follows since unless it has automatic course correction it will only follow you on really flat ground and since it would be behind, you would not know it had veered of course. A friend of mine had his follower drive itself into a pond since the ground was sloping towards the water.

BTW if you are after a lithium battery the Navigator Quad and I believe the Navigator elite came so equipped. The good news is they are light and last longer. The bad news is when they do crap out you are looking at about 5-6x the price of lead acid. I looks like the battery in the Quad is rebuildable for about 1/3rd the price of new if you can do a little soldering.

Update with review-

I received my Forecaddie Friday, and have golfed with it twice now. Pros and cons:

Pros-
1- The follow feature is awesome. Walking around the course without pushing or carrying is liberating, and I feel much more fresh in the later holes. My course goes from the low elevation of the course on the 8th tee box to the high elevation point on the 9th (a 520 yard par 5) and normally that is where I would start to feel fatigued. So nice to just walk up the fairway and have my cart follow me. It seems to track the remote pretty accurately, and corrects well based on elevation changes etc.

2- The battery life is really good, at least without something else to compare it to. I played both rounds and the indicator showed I still had close to half battery left. I would have tried a third, but the bag room was closed at my club so I had to bring it home and figured I might as well charge it. I'll try it next time.

3- The battery comes out really easy and goes in really easy. No buttons to press and my bag doesn't need to be removed. Makes it easy to take home and charge and leave the cart at the club.

4- It doesn't look like its trying to be some space robot.

5- Coming with a phone holder/wireless charger is a nice plus.

6- Less of a feature for me because I store my clubs, but it sets up/breaks down super quick and easy.

Cons-
1- The remote control mode utilizing the joystick is bad. Like "unusable" bad. I really hope they make major improvements to it in a firmware update, because I had visions of grabbing my putter, walking to the green, and driving the cart ahead to where I'd walk off the green with the joystick. Currently, this is basically impossible.

2- The power assist mode is only "OK." Because of the fact that the speed never seems perfect, and the fact that it always seems to default to either a higher speed or lower speed than the last use, it requires a lot of fiddling. Around the green and in tight quarters, it is a must to control it this way, and I think that it is a worse experience/more effort than my push cart in those cases.

3- Freewheel mode requires actually moving the wheel on the axle. EDIT- I just found out this is wrong- turns out that holding down the “-“ button engages it. Bonus!

4- The two molded sections of the handholds (upper and lower) feel like they are starting to come apart already. I hope that it is either a defect that ends up covered under warranty, or just inherent in the design. Preferable the former, as it cheapens the experience.

Overall I feel that it is a great product and I'm happy with the purchase!

I'd like to hear a little more on how it works in tight spaces after you use it few more times.
Do you have to recharge the remote and the battery ? Or does the remote (follow device) recharge from the battery.

Freewheel mode with the Navigator is the same as yours, kind of a pain !!

It follows about 6-7 feet behind. I haven’t seen it do anything funky going down a hill yet, but I’ll keep an eye on it.

The remote charged off USB, the cart has a USB port so it can charge it. It seems like that would create a “no follow” scenario though, so I stashed a portable charger in my bag just in case.

Also, I just found out I was wrong about freewheel mode, it can be done electronically also via a button. I’ll test it tomorrow when I golf.

I’ve had mine for a year and a half. I bought it because it has follow. You have to be careful about people behind you or they get run over. It works great and the battery lasts for over 2 rounds easy. There’s been firmware for the caddy and remote. It’s got a learning curve but once you learn it it’s great.
