My GC2 might have fried tonight...

My rebuild battery came in from Batteries Plus today. I installed it and tried to power on the unit, nothing happened. OK, no big deal, maybe it shipped needing a charge. OK, plug it in. Nothing. I start to get a sinking feeling. OK, maybe the battery is causing an issue. I remove it, and re plug in. Still nothing. SHIT!

Other than sending back to Foresight, does anyone have anything to try?

If you have a multimeter try to measure your power supply and make sure it is still working. You also may have knocked the ribbon cable loose that is right against the battery. There are two black tabs that you pull out on the sides of the connector, then put the cable in and push the tabs back in.

Don't panic just yet, I've had this happen.
Follow Andy's instructions above, but it could also be that there is an issue with the new battery.
I ended up sending my unit back to foresight with the power issues you mentioned. They ended up saying it just needs a new battery and I paid them for a new battery.
I later found out the rebuilt battery had an internal wire come loose.
I sent the battery back to the supplier and they apologised and fixed it.
Not had any issue previously or since with rebuilt batteries.

Complete lifesaver guys! Or big money saver at least, I was convinced I “had to” trade for a GCQ to resolve this. It was the ribbon cable, at first I thought it wasn’t that, but when I figured out how to secure both clips at once it fixed it. The battery is good also. Thanks a ton!!!
