  • E6 integration Aug 17

    Got this from Foresight today:

We are excited to be releasing our E6 software integration on Monday, August 17th. This is effective for all FSX 2020 license holders. If you are still considering purchasing our technology, this is an exciting addition to our offerings.

so $2,500 for e6 and you have to get FSX 2020 if you dont have it? Man that is costly. Guess I'll stick with TGC2019

27 courses. 300 a year for online. 600 for online and all content

Unless they changed something, it was going to be $2500 up front but no annual fee, somewhere around 27 courses included. Did you hear this from Foresight or just assume it’s the same as other E6? I’d prefer the subscription cost, no way I exceed $2500 before something better comes out.

It is on the foresight website. There is a page now.

Yes. Foresight sent me a doc. 2500 up front for 27 courses
if you want online then it is 300 per year and if you want online with more courses then it is 600. Basically the same as all other LM companies charge for e6. Uneekor is Similar except they have a pancake for 1200 with 7 courses

Except the other companies don’t require you to have $3000 software of theirs before charging you $2500 to access E6 before charging you $300 a year. If I’m not mistaken, it’s just $300 a year with the other companies.

My interpretation early on was “well, $2500 sucks but at least there isn’t a subscription fee.” If there still is a subscription fee, this seems pretty greedy.

My understanding is the $2500 gets you the 27 courses. If you want access to all of the courses and the online play, you need to pay for the subscription also. Very greedy. Especially after purchasing the $3000 FSX for 5 courses. haha

This is all true. Foresight has stated you need FSX and cannot buy just E6. On a good note I know foresight is working on a new graphics engine and probably will not be out until next year. If we can wait it out I am sure it will be as good or better than everything they have without the added costs. They had a post for the developer hiring ticket so I know they are serious about making this happen.

Looking at the PDF, the subscription isn’t required unless you want to play online or have access to more than 27 courses, so that isn’t as bad as I was thinking.

My 4K projector is going up this morning, I’ll be determining soon if the Carl’s Premium screen is capable of enough resolution to make it worth paying $2500 better graphics...

I hope this isn’t foresight’s solution to getting rid of the courses they publish for FSX2020 and basically telling owners if they want to play courses, they need E6.

I can't imagine that - they charge so much for a single course. I'd assume this is a realization they can't keep up with the demand for more courses and variety, so partner with a platform that does just that. I haven't personally done any investigation of E6 vs FSX2020 vs TGC 2019 - but I have FSX2020 and TGC2019, I am curious why people pay for that much for E6? The only reason I got FSX was for practicing and game improvement, while I have a few courses (Inc. Pebble Beach) I have never played a full round, knowing I can play TGC.

So it's an ENTRY price of $2500 and then if you want more it's ANOTHER $300 or $600 a year.
That's steep for anyone who has already bought FSX2020.
Can't see the value. Why would anyone do this instead of just getting TGC2019?

Official support, and guaranteed to work. TGC2019 on GCQ doesn't seem like it's a guarantee forever.

I understand your response. but I do agree with Jay28. For an entry of $2500, I will just pick up a skytrak or mevo+ for when I want to play TGC.

I wonder if this is why users started seeing their GCQuads not work with TGC 2019 unless there was FSX running in the background (like a software dongle pointed out by others in that thread). I could see a partnership with E6 requiring them to at least entice users to go the E6 route (or making it more expensive for just TGC) and keeping E6 happy.

That is probably how they make sure you have FSX before you purchase E6. There must be something that they put into the E6 software that tells the quad it is okay to send the data. Something similar to just opening FSX alone. This seems to be why people running TGC need to open FSX and before TGC. intrinsic said you could close the FSX application once its communicating. It must be the same reasons though. Very Interesting.

I will say this- I own TGC and I own FSX. I really want an option with better graphics, so I am considering TGC2019 and I am considering E6. Yes, E6 is 5x as expensive as what it would cost me to upgrade, but I know that I shouldn't be running into issues on a Sunday when I invite three guys over for golf, which carries some value too.

The videos I've seen of E6 have great graphics. I also like how the shot registers near instantly.
