  • GCQuad Distance Question

I am thinking of purchasing a GCQuad in the next few weeks. Wanted to find out from current owners out there what the "minimum" and "recommended" distance from the impact screen would be. (I know that it is camera-based, so only needs a few feet of ball flight, but wanted to find out how most people set theirs up.) Mine will most likely be somewhere between 8-10 feet.

    Thanks.

mine is under 7' from my screen and works great. I don't notice any difference if I move it around. Was at the range one time and they were doing work and could only hit a driver into a net. Titleist was there with the new driver and he had a Trakman. It was pointless hitting that into a net as it got no readings. Could not move it far enough back where we were. I had my quad with me for the range session, plopped it down and reading every time.

The Quad only reads like the first 2 feet. It's more the impact screen and your comfort level with swinging that matter. I'm 9.5-10 feet now but I was 6-7 away from my Net Return and no issues.

Yeah, I was a bit further away before and I like to hit flop shots... There are a few golf balls stuck in my ceiling. Amazing how well they cut right through sheet rock!

The Quad does not care how far from the screen you are. If you can swing a club, you are fine.

I have a 9' x 4' Fiberbuilt mat with my Quad... I have the front edge set at 8 feet. So the hitting area is anything from 8-12 feet. I normally have the quad set up at the front of it and hit from around 9 ft... I have 10'6" tall ceilings and can hit full lob wedge from 9' and hit the impact screen without hitting the ceiling

I probably hit from anywhere between 6 and 8 feet from the screen. The ceiling height is what I am more concerned with and I'm amazed people can get by with a 10ft ceiling. 10'6" is the minimum for me to feel comfortable swinging full speed without any concerns of hitting the ceiling.

Luckily, my ceiling is 13' in my garage!

Mine is 9'. It does take some getting used to, but unlikely you're going to hit it unless you are above average height. I'd much rather it be taller, but that's all I've got.
          Working...
