Foresight Quad v Trackman Swing Speed - Different numbers

Anyone notice swing speed differences between Foresight Quad and Trackman 4.
Quad measures between 5-10 mph faster than Trackman when I go to my coach for my weekly lesson.
I’m hitting the same distance with my Quad and Trackman so one of them is incorrect, I assume Trackman is calculating the speed as Quad is measuring it?

No they both measure it. Just at different points. Foresight products measure speed right before impact, while Trackman measures at full compression of the ball. Meaning, Trackman measures AFTER the club has contacted the ball, so the club is slowing down after impact. This is why Foresight will always measure a higher clubhead speed then trackman, and produce a lower smash factor.

Yes they are both calculating swing speed at different points. I don’t think either are incorrect.

Ball position can also effect swing speed on the quad... I used to position the quad so that the tee on my mat was at the very front of the hitting area (to ensure the machine couldn't be hit even with the coldest shank from my 5 year old)... However putting this far up I would routinely get smash factors around 1.57 with Driver, which is impossible and obviously means it's underestimating the swingspeed. So now I hit it more in the middle which makes a flushed driver have a smash factor around 1.48ish which means it's pretty accurate on swing speed.

If you are getting smash factors of 1.42 on a well hit driver the quad is over estimating your swing speed, move it around until you find the spot where a hammered driver is closer to 1.50.

I have a 95-98 mph swing speed with the occasional 101 and the few times I have hit with a Trackman at a fitting with a driver my smash factor is always 1.50 or 1.51. Even when I hit it off the toe. GCQuad seems to to get this right more often. This is just my experience. I have used GCQuad a lot more, so not much Trackman data to compare to.
