FSX 2020 Frustration..need some tips

I love my GCQuad, the hardware is spectacular...I just keep wishing I could have foresight hardware and TPS software. I continue to have frustration with the software. I also recognize I am naive with FSX...so if anyone has any tips, please address some of them here:

• Every 5 or so time I launch FSX all the users are logged out, I have to log back in...and every 2 or 3 times when I log back in my default settings have not been loaded.
• I am wanting to practice more on the course....but really struggle to figure out how to adjust distances so i can practice a given shot shape or pattern on a given hole.
• Every time I launch inside 6 ft I get an error and says it cannot connect to server.
• I find the skills challenge to be oh so lacking compared to Trackman combine or even skytrak.
  • 1, 3, and 5 points just doesn't cut it.

Are there better software packages for practice that I should consider that integrate to the Quad...or should I try and be patient for Foresight?

PS....really wish they would support the use of iphone/ipad/android for camera use.

I can hopefully answer a few of your questions ---

Go to improve mode, pick your course and the hole you want to play. On the mini-map, just place your mouse over the spot where you'd like to hit from and right click. It will drop a ball in that location for you to practice.

My biggest gripe is the inability to change the pin placements in Improve or Practice mode. I would love to be able to hit some shots from 100 yards out, then move the pin to a more challenging location.

Thanks Gawifa, Everything I do is with a touch screen so that explains why its a pain on the practice mode on the course. I'll dig my mouse out and give it a try.

You need to disable OFFLINE HOURS setting to get Inside 6ft to work. Disable it, quit FSX, then reopen.
I had exactly the same issue for about 6 weeks until I emailed Foresight support who told me to do this!!

Click on the Foresight Sports logo in the top center of the main Play, Compete, Improve screen. From there you will need to click the option to deactivate Offline Hours.

Interesting, mine won'tlet me disable it. Just shows it is enabled.

and as far as iphone for camera, you cannot stream the cam into the computer quickly enough so it just cannot work. If you can find a program that connects your iphone as a webcam, it should work. But, there are better cams and easier setups.

Baller, while I hear you, this works find enough with Trackman software, and is great on course or at the range to be able to use the ipad for a quick camera view.

It works as a live stream into Trackman, or you have to import it?

I have a cheap cam DTL that I get 100 fps on and it's there just for FSX even though I have like 5 other high end cams that would work better, but I'm still happy with this setup and using my phone would be annoying. I use my phone for other things. I have a high end FO cam that does work well with FSX.

I hear you though. At one point I thought I'd want to use my phone until I made that stream into Motionview Elite and then once it worked I didn't like it.
