GC2 - Noobie Question

I am contemplating purchasing a GC2, but did not intend on purchasing HMT.

Will the GC2 alone measure the push/pull of the shot (Foresight refers to this as the azimuth).
Or, did I need the HMT to measure club path so that the azimuth is accurately captured?
