  • GCQuad - Missed shots on putting

Has anyone had issues with GCQuad not picking up some putts. Doesn’t miss a driver or iron but about 20% of the time does not read putter putts even though it says ready before the shot.
I have latest firmware etc so not sure what the issue is.

I have not experienced any putt reading issues with the Quad -- no matter the distance of the putt. I do get the occasional no-read on a driver shot from my brother (with a high swing speed), but that only tends to happen when he tees it up along the very edge of the allowable hitting area. If he tees it up more in the middle, then there are less no-reads. Putting has been great with my Quad. My only complaint is the severe uphill putt issue in E6, which is an E6 issue as the Quad is reading it fine. (This is where the putt in E6 will roll about 5 feet and stop like it hit a brick wall, then roll back down the hill.)

Only things it would be are:
Something white or reflective in the field of view? Could be a tee or shoes (yes really-especially since you are closer to the ball when putting)
Try cleaning the front of the quad, dirt could be in the way.

Only thing I get with my quad is that it is sometimes TOO SENSITIVE! It think I took a swing when I move the ball into position sometimes.

My only issue on putting is extremely long putts. Of 70 feet or more. I get over 10k back spin which causes the ball to go about 4 feet and spin backwards. I just chip the real long ones because of that

And you have those often? I've never had one that long. I've had a few in the 50-60' range and no problem. Might be your mat as well.

no only 2 -3 times in 4 months. it is not the mat but possible the white face of the putter

I thought it was a white alignment stick I use but Rome d it but still missing putts. My putter face is grey.
I’m using Titilist balls so will try changing them to se did it makes a difference.
Only putts I’m having issues with so is something silly I have not thought off.

Make sure there is no direct sunlight or sunlight reelections in to the Quad. I had this issue but as soon as the blinds were installed it works perfectly. As other have mentioned some have issues with light colored shoes though I have not seen this and my shoes are white .....

Maybe the sunlight with your shoes is the problem. Quad works great outdoors and in direct sunlight. It's not one of those XXX6 units from the IDONTWANNASAY company.

I recent switched from gc2 to quad. Reading putts just fine with fsx but many misseed shots with putter and tgc
            GC2/ Protee and TGC

I’m still having issues, could be the putter as it has a dark grey face but in centre of putter face there is a light grey square. Strange as it never happened with GC2. I’ve tried a different putter and still happening but I cannot see anything else it could be, I’ll give it another clean to see if that makes a difference.

Yeah, that is really strange. My putter is black and no issues, reads every putt. Any chance it's your mat? What mat are you using? Maybe try moving the unit to putt over carpet and see if it happens. Also try barefoot. It is likely that something is making a reflection, that's key.

It's a unit from a different manufacturer that doesn't read anything and only guesses what shot you hit and can't read putts or chips worth a damn. If you don't know who I mean, be glad.
