Shot Tracer Colors

I actually read the FSX2020 manual (not the best for detailed info) Googled and also used the search function here.

What is the deal with the different colored shot tracers? I'll get blue, red or green ones. Google sent me to this forum to a thread back in 2018 (2016?) where the final answer was that different colors were for different clubs. But some of my putts are red and some are green, so that's not right.

Is it related to shots to par? So I'm blue until I'm on the green then it's green for a birdie or better shot and red for bogie or worse? (That would explain all my red ones!)

Yes the colors represent the club you have chosen. You can customize that. Maybe some of your green putts aren't red because you're actually on the collar of the green putting instead of chipping. If you change it to a putter it would be red.
