If it's a windows computer, click on the networks icon in the bottom right. The icon will look like a wired connection icon. Then look for the network your GCquad is putting out, mine is names GCQxxxxx (Serial #). You should have an email from Foresight with the password to connect. I have to connect to the quad everytime I turn on the quad even though I have it saved as autoconnect. I do t have to put in the password each time. Once connected I just open up FSX and I'm off.

If you still connect to the gcquad via wifi - do you find that the wifi connection drops often without cause?

I used to run this setup. Wi-Fi would drop out if not using a program. I had usb to sim comp and Wi-Fi to swing catalyst.

My current setup is computers get Wi-Fi internet and Quad connects to both computers using ethernet and a switch. If I had an ethernet hookup for internet near my sim, I could also just pop that into the switch. I REALLY like hard wired on Quad.

No I've never had it just drop wifi. I have had the GC Quad randomly restart after a shot (pretty rare), which will drop the wifi and I have to reconnect but never just lose wifi.

I have had the GCQuad for 3 years and it rarely drops connection. My computer connects via Ethernet and I attache to the GCQuad's wireless signal
