GC2 with Almost Golfballs?

Just wondering if Almost Golfballs work ok with a GC2?
I'm stll waiting for my screen to come back from being altered - but have heard it's shipping tomorrow (it's been a long wait!).
When I was hitting balls in the garage previously quite late at night, my wife said that it was pretty loud. Being that I'm away to have a baby in a couple of weeks, I've been thinking of ways to perhaps play quieter golf. I read that Almost Golfballs are much quieter than real balls.
If they work with a GC2, they might be a solution to late night golf!!

The Almost balls will show up on a GC2 but they loose yardage on clubs longer than a 9 iron. Pw and 9 seemed close if I recall and after that they got lower as you went. Also the LA if I recall was lower for them and the spin will not be accurate either. On a system that reads club only and not the ball, they work great. One other issue was that after hitting those balls and then hitting a real one, it felt like a rock off the face. So not great to warm up with before a real round.

5 Point balls were better for matching ball speed on irons but were too much when hitting the woods. Also louder than the Almost balls.

If you just want to swing and hit balls. Almost balls are ok, but if you want accurate ball flight they are not going to give you that. If you use boost to match the ball flight for the longer irons then the wedges are going to be too long.

For kids to use so they don't break anything, it would be a good way to go but again if they get used to hitting softer, lighter balls, they may not hit the real ones as well.

I have some and found they went 90% on my GC2 but they sucked to hit. I never even bother after 5 or 6 short irons.

If they would have been 90% for all shots it would have been fine, but that does not happen as it changes as the clubs get longer. I am with you that they are not a great option for a GC2 where so much of the ball info is so important when calculating your ball flight. You don't want to use the info at all from an almost ball.

I felt like it was pointless to use the GC2 with the Almost balls. GC2 is all about ball data, and the Almost Ball data is really irrelevant. Fine for trying to work on your swing... Just turn off the GC2. My 2 cents. I've heard about guys who like using them for fun. Just don't give too much credence to the numbers.

Thanks for the feedback. I've ordered a starter pack (10 balls) to give them a try, but I don's suppose there's any point in using them with the GC2. My swing needs a lot of work... so I'll keep them for that!
