  • Gc quad protective case?

Does anyone know of any protective cases made by foresight or anyone else, or any DIY ideas? Not sure how feasible it is with all the cameras, but for those with a quad, how is it protected if you were to accidentally shank one? Or is the hitting zone far enough from the quad, where it would be “safe”?

I believe that the Quad has its own protective case built in and able to withstand shanks.

Yes, the Quad is supposed to be hardened somewhat. I take solace in the fact that a sh^&k takes a lot of speed off the ball as well. Never say never I suppose though.

I hit plenty of *unmentionables* and have never had one hit the Quad. Doesn't seem even that close. My daughter did once fire one straight off the toe however, a real thin snick that hit the unit. No damage. I think if you hit it so bad as to risk hitting the Quad, the ball is not going to be moving very fast. The cameras themselves cannot be hit by a ball. And the thing is built like a tank. I would not worry about a case.

48 hours into my new setup...

I took a piece out of the quad case after a driver ricochet off the aluminum bar on the bottom under the screen. It came straight back and knocked it over. A bit scary.

Now I've bought a metal protective case from here and also some padding to stop a ball from coming back at 100+ mph again.

Yikes! Frankly I would be more worried about addressing the aluminum bar if I were you. Don't want to get hit yourself! Lot's of suggestions around - I personally think the ramp foam might be one of the better ones but I am sure others can weigh in or do a quick search for ricochets.

                Thanks for the suggestion!

i was going to use pool noodles but ramp foam sounds better.

I’m new to this - would you mind elaborating on ‘ramp foam’? Is that something that goes in front of the impact screen to send the low hit balls into the screen or top of the enclosure?

Check out post #8 in this thread: How to limit bounce back on retractable screen - Golf Simulator Forum

Also do a quick search for gutter foam and you will find other threads.

I got Quad Lock from Etsy, very well made, just a bit expensive.
